Lt. Gen. Fazle Haq(May Allah bless his soul)
He, being Governor earstwhile NWFP, used to visit 19 Punjab on his every visit to Bannu.Earlier, the unit had been under his Brigade once he was Brig. Later as Comd 11 Corps, again he witnessed the good performance of the unit since the unit was winning every competition & had managed to keep it's shoulder higher then many other good units, on his one of the visits he told then CO 19 Punjab that " if I were to take commission today, I would definitely choose 19 Punjab"

Later ,many years down the road being SO with Comd 11 Corps,I had to visit Governor House KPK, I met a DIG , very well read non CSS offr with lot of service, experience & reading on his back, he told me that being young officer he was told by his senior who was serving with the General that even as Governor he was so fit physically that during visits of remote areas,he would climb the mountains much earlier then us the younger civil servants.

**Honoring a 1965 War Aviator: Maj Gen M.A. Latif**

In 1958, Major General M.A. Latif (Retd.) emerged as one of the early Bengali officers trained as a pilot in Pakistan Army Aviation, mastering the L-19 liaison aircraft and logging thousands of flying hours in service to united Pakistan.

His valor shone during the 1965 Indo-Pak War, where he conducted daring "Anti-Surface Force Campaign" sorties deep into enemy territory for critical intelligence gathering in the Akhnoor sector. On 11 September 1965, his L-19 sustained severe damage from intense enemy fire, yet he exhibited extraordinary skill and courage to execute a safe forced landing at the Akhnoor Operational Area—safeguarding the aircraft and completing his mission amid peril.

A dedicated aviator whose contributions during united Pakistan's pivotal moments continue to inspire generations.

His son, Sohel Latif, shares this heartfelt reflection:
"My father's aircraft L-19 was shot [damaged], the Day I was Born... On the eve of my birthday, I remember my father, Major General M.A. Latif (Retd), who was among the early Bangladeshi pilots enrolled in Pakistan Army Aviation (1958)... May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus."
