Pakistan Unveils FATAH-3 Supersonic Missile Based on China’s HD-1, Challenging India’s BrahMos Dominance in South Asia​

Islamabad’s unveiling of the FATAH-3 ramjet-powered cruise missile signals a major shift in South Asia’s conventional deterrence balance as Pakistan moves toward high-speed precision-strike warfare backed by expanding China-Pakistan missile cooperation.​

Apparently it's also treated like a bit of a joke by Chinese military fans. BUT perhaps Pakistan purchased the rights to the missile at whatever development point they had it and indigenised it. Making the Fatah III a Pakistani missile rather than the Guangdong mining company's product.

Either way what is shown as Fatah III is clearly still different to the 4 intake version of the HD-1 mockup. Implying there has been more work on that missile to get it to Pakistan.

Goes to show how advanced the industrial complex is in China, engineers at a mining company can develop a supersonic cruise missile in their spare time, while dedicated aircraft engineers in india can't even develop a light fighter/trainer after over 40 years and copy soviet era missiles and call them "indigenous".

Doesn't matter , they felt they were short in this capability & they bought it immediately.

Its one thing Indian defence planners needs to take a lesson in.

Besides this, we produce brahmos in huge numbers & a lot of variants, this won't change much.

Rather like how the J10C and PL15 didn't change much? It introduces another type of attack vector that you'll have to contend with, it's all about options to utilize.

many reasons. I heard that the Beidu signal is stronger than GPS, and it cannot be cluttered by the adversary. However, there can be a political reason, like China also wants Hormuz to be opened sooner, and let's assume Iran likes to pursue an attack, and so forth. Just like a 'kill' switch.
Nonetheless, we need a link/communications satellite for our drones (all types) and CMs.
I also hope that we can get some tech to spoof Brahmos salvos efficiently or precise info (ground+space) to kill it at its nest.

Both do damage but one of them hit the wallet harder than enemy bases

Brahmos is very expensive because it's a collab project and not 100% indigenous. and production is very low at 150 missile per year.

Brahmos 2 was shelved because of same problem and focus shifted to indigenous HCM (ET-LDHCM)

So indigenous system is the real gem

The massive difference is that HD-1 is light enough to carried by the even the smallest aircraft in the PAF's inventory while you are limited to 30 odd Mki's and even they can only carry one

And it's available right out the gate and not where you have wait a decade to develop that capability

That problem will be solved by next year with Brahmos NG. Any jet can carry it and su-30 can carry upto 5 Brahmos NG. Cost is the main issue
