PA Options against Indian Armour - ATGMs on MANPADS & Attack Gunship Helicopter - News & Discussions

True.

It is also one of the most rewarding things to achieve in any armed conflict against Pakistan by India.

We are discussing possibilities, in an abstract frame of mind, please let these not be misunderstood.

What I meant to say to him was Relatively easy as long as nobody is shooting at you or firing artillery on the bridgehead

You are right.

It requires a point crossing by air by a strong infantry formation on choppers, to form a bridgehead on the further side, to protect engineering efforts to bridge the gaps (much of the borders are carefully guarded with man-made barriers parallel to the rivers), or to capture actual existing bridges. If telegraphed, these may be bloodied by an alert enemy, but it is also unlikely that every inch of land is guarded equally well.

The sequence of events for these river crossings is best left to the imagination of individuals.
For some reason, except for that rare freakish standout Sagat Singh, sub-continental commanders think in two dimensions, and completely ignore the air as a medium of passage. Even one of the only other successful generals, Eftekhar Janjua, thought that way, though with a touch of battle fighting genius rare to our leaders of lions.

Oh, no, that is precisely and forcefully imprinted in my mind as well. Your point is so strong, it is a nightmarish thought.

@Raja Porus

WHAT are you doing, snooping around reading my posts? ;)
Now I have to self-censor my posts!!
How's life, and are you helping with 'Bad Blood'? 🤨
Already I feel tense. 🥺
May all your Chinese missiles turn out to have been fuelled with water, this time around!!! 😈

Interesting Concept to the subject :-

:The Ukrainian army received kamikaze UAVs using RPG-7 ammunition as warheads.

The most effective solution is to use the ammunition that has been used and verified by the armies for years in the Kamikaze UAV.

Turkey's most difficult issue regarding the kamikaze UAV was the field fuze and explosives issue."

Doing fine, trying to get as much intel from your posts as possible 😉.
But this time I'm rather a very idle member of the Pakistani team

The Turkish weapon systems which have entered mass production. For most things mentioned here these would be our answer soon. Although KAROK range is less but we can work with Turkey to increase it beyond 4 KM. Also join the OMTAS and UMTAS Anti Tank and Anti Bunker weapons project.

"DRDO to start the fabrication of a rocket motor casing with nozzle assembly. Most probably for Nag MK2."

Any tank these days without significant anti-infantry capabilities to counter AT weapons will fail. This means tanks must locate infantry elements and have weapon systems that can eliminate them before they can fire AT weapons. This mean tanks must use or have in support significant Drone coverage not only for scouting but the targeting of non-LOS munitions from the tank or from other units armour personnel carriers. ( I mean like Bradley type’s)

You have a point, a rock-solid point, but what you are suggesting is easier said than done. Sure, everyone will get there some day. It just might not be today. Or tomorrow.

I think the future rolls of tanks will be battlefield coordination instead of direct combat. Heavy sensors, drones, soldier coordination, threat analysis, gear carrying. Kind of a mobile "forward base" until a safer front can be established. Coming back to Pakistan & india tank tactics they will continue like ww2 for a longtime slugging it out in places

How totally I agree with you!

For instance, take the vast number of Vijayanta and T55 tanks being used as stationary gun platforms. Imagine if these, a sample few of each type, had been handed over to one of our excellent robotics labs.

Looking at your wish-list, heavy sensors would be an addition, not heavy in terms of technical intensity , but in terms of sheer weight, such that a UAV would find it difficult to carry that weight economically.
Drones, of course, with not a tank but an APC, not even an IFV, housing several operators, and equipped with 'heavy' communications equipment.
Soldier coordination would be very tricky, but I think that can be worked around with a suitable attention to doctrine.

As far as Pakistan-India tank tactics are concerned, have you ever wondered why one side that is economically and in terms of production capacity better equipped does not concentrate on artillery and get the upper hand? Surely that should precede armoured use?
