PAF Conducts Successful Test Launch of Taimoor ALCM

Yes but my guess is that it was being used by Paf aircraft as a back up base given the fear of Brahmos onslaught on main Paf bases such a sargodha, bholari which eventually did happen

Pakistan will (if not already) have a dedicated comms sat requirement. The starting point will prob be Chinese, but I think the goal is to configure locally with inputs from willing vendors/partners from the second military comms say req. SUPARCO said it could integrate X-Band transponders with Ku and Ka as far back as 2018, so this has been on the cards for a while. Ultimately, Pakistan wants the full triad (comms, imaging, and nav/loc), under sovereign control, hence studies for PNSS/PakNav.

The issue is that Pakistan may have decades of experience producing missiles, but it lacks both the experience and capacity to produce those missiles at scale.

This is an economic problem in general and an industrial constraint in particular. We don't have policies, let alone mechanisms and funding, geared towards industrial defence programming.

Hence why we're at a point where some folks (including our resident ex-PAF IR scholar) are stuck on PAC apparently being better at making JF-17s than HAL is with Tejas, but completely, entirely, and shamelessly ignoring how HAL can source alloys, composites, DEECs inputs, gas turbine inputs, flight control systems, etc, etc, all indigenously while PAC must import all of that from China or other sources.

In general, our side can't even converse or think clearly on this matter, much less come to an understanding of what's necessary, hence why people like @JamD have to repeat this over and over and over again until it lands.

And the bigger tragedy is that we did have industrial experts, i.e., the many folks and entities that contributed towards our nuclear program. Thus, if nat-sec leadership held itself accountable, we probably could rekindle the spirit and start building that industrial capacity.
Please keep me out of your insight. You can continue to worry about Pakistan and praise HAL with your favorite great Pakistani people in your own echo chamber. The results of 2019 and 2025 conflicts don't give anyone a reason to look down at PAF, except any personal biases.

The forum is a place for discussions but not every idea is worth listening to. The alarmist attitude about how India will get better of us next time is not based on any evidence but speculation. So you can continue with this narrative of how our national security is at risk due to wrong policies.

HAL was producing aircraft when PAC didn’t exist even on paper. A company founded in 1940, Maharatna DPSU. This is not intellectual discourse where we leave out key details and start mudslinging. It's just pointscoring to show you know more than me about importance of imagery, missiles and policies.

I don't even know what is the argument here. It was about undisclosed imagery initially, then my claims about J-35 and now it's about missiles and PAC's failures. How can we do a healthy debate if I don't even know what is your core argument? If you just want to bash PAF, you don't need a discussion forum for that. Quite confusing.

@AeronautIR they know what they are talking about , because they have worked in that industry , not praising India just highlighting how dumb it is to compare our industrial bases
@Ak01 stop the banter mate pls

I am sure they know but "what are they talking about?" And "what industry?" I mean, all I have seen is taunting and snide remarks. Why will I take them seriously? Just a toxic group of people who want respect without earning it. 🤷‍♂️
And what industrial bases? Public? Private? 🤣 Am I to just guess all this? And it is not banter, it is just pretentious ranting. Same team. 🤔 Makes no sense.
