PAF Conducts successful test of indigenously developed FAAZ BVRAAM

The way our neighbours, particularly Indians, are reacting is hilarious. Sadly, even some Pakistanis fail to realise the magnitude of this development. The problem is that we are not looking at the future of warfare. Imagine when Faaz II comes with a range of 200 km or potentially more, supported by Kızılelma as a loyal wingman, carrying four BVR missiles in its internal weapons bay, alongside a dedicated electronic warfare variant. Now imagine a formation of 12 such UCAVs: eight equipped with four BVR missiles each and four dedicated to electronic warfare. Think about the implications for India's ability to operate its fighter fleet in a contested airspace. This is precisely where manned unmanned teaming could give the PAF a significant advantage: extending its reach, complicating enemy operations, and potentially achieving effects without exposing Pakistani pilots to the same level of risk.

This is such a spot on comment. In future scenarios both sides will not take undue risks with premier jets. Not just as these are very valuable assets but also the propganda value of losing them (as IAF found out!) is very high.

Such missiles and UCAVs mean we can take the arial war deep into India

Congratulations PAF and all engineers/staff involved with testing, development of Faaz.
I assume for IR or IIR seekers, there is no way for target aircraft to know its been on target (unlike radar seekers, that can be detected).

Kind of scary, from the point of view of enemy. You are 100 km away from border and you are scanning for the radar emissions and locks. Nothing and still something is hunting you and your squadron.

Godzilla 3, what is your status...

Sorry I mixed two things. I was talking about an air to air missile test. It was not mirage and it was called indigenous but it visually it looked like SD10 (probably a precursor to Faaz program). Couldn’t find the old video, it seems ISPR account is limited to 2 year old.
Yaap .... It was launched from JF-17 and test with operationalization of newly inducted optical and telemetric sensors from China for Somiani missile testing range.

Many people might not know that Somiani not just for Ballistic or cruise missile testing range but also have a complete set up for air to air and air to ground missile testing

The indigenously produced JF-17 Thunder aircraft of Pakistan Air Force shot down a slow speed target with Beyond Visual Range and Infrared missile at Sonmiani firing range on Friday.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman was the Chief Guest at the ceremony.

The day marked a monumental episode in the glorious history of PAF as a state-of-the-art Weapon Test Range has been made operational to track the complete trajectory of the aircraft and launched missiles.

This modern facility, developed in collaboration with Chinese authorities, is equipped with real time tracking and measuring equipment to qualify the indigenously developed and procured weapon systems.

Speaking on the occasion the Air Chief said it is a matter of immense pride that six PAF fighter squadrons have already being equipped with the pride of the nation JF-17 Thunder aircraft, making it the backbone of our aerial defence.

He also lauded the hard work put in by PAF and Chinese personnel in making this event a success.

@HRK @Bilal I hope we can manufacture the FAAZ-1 in very large numbers and bring its unit cost down significantly. The long-term goal should be to develop it into an affordable interceptor that can eventually be integrated with our UCAVs, giving them the capability to shoot down enemy drones.
I am more interested in a high performance (and mass deployable) surface to air derivative. Something that can give the performance level of IRIS-SL, CAAM-ER or even beyond like Nasam/ESSM (newer blocks).
