PAF F-16 | Discussions

Those are enough to still keep them relevant potent aircraft with high opertional tempo.

You have to look to the threat - what it actually turned out to be in the last conflict and what regardless of them dumping a trillion dollars in.. just plain human, production and logistical limitations means they wont be a "greater" threat until it is time for the F-16s to finally go.
do you think they will actually get any meaningful upgrades?

Just compatibility upgrades for exercises with allied nations.

UAE isnt favorable too, block 60s might fly away to Greece when retired from UAEAF, something PAF could have sought, along with 21 x airframes from Venezuela to appease USA.

If any weapons acquisition by paksitan brings concerns to india, its worth it.

F-16 is an upgradable aircraft, something that Mirage-2000 or Mig-29 weren't envisioned when all these aircraft were acquired in 1980s. India saw that F-16 became Block-32 at end of 1980s from F-16/79 and Block-5. Mirage-2000 or Mig-29 didn't get the same upgrades with a clear lifeline.

Today, the V-upgrade brings F-16A/B Block-15 from 1980s to a standard 4.5 gen fighter.
