PAF F-16 | Discussions

I think it would be a mistake if PAF selects Typhoon or even more F-16s, if at all. Focus should now be on J-10, J-35 and KAAN.

Really it comes down to funds and how mature both Kaan and J-35 are. The earliest you're gonna see J-35 is realistically in '28 or later (though there is 'word' on the street PAF base Bohlari is constructing 5th gen aircraft shelters (no concrete evidence however)).

Kaan is still quite a long while away, expecting it around the early 2030s.

IF for whatever reason PAF decides J-35 isn't 'it', Typhoons can be a stop gap solution until say Kaan is finally ready. Yes Typhoon isn't a 5th gen fighter but is still very potent, and can supplement PAF's other assets quite nicely, moving the F-16s to a reserve role whilst Typhoons, J-10cs and JF-17 B3s fill in that space.

The Typhoon will never be sold to Pakistan. These are also exorbitantly expensive.

India will field f35 in coming years. Typhon honestly would be scrap metal in front of it.

It is extremely unlikely the the European consortium will allow the sale of Eurofighter to Pakistan.

This money is not for capability upgrades, just monitoring. Maintenance is done seperarely, so i dont understand why the Indians are getting so animated about it.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around why "monitoring" requires $397M.

What would happen if you decided to declare your neighbors a terrorist organization? Does the "monitoring" go away?

The Typhoon would be a step back for the PAF. Why induct yet another type with similar specs to the J10C? And one that is quite expensive to acquire and operate, not to say with still limited multirole capability after all these years - it's still primarily an A2A aircraft, compared with the Rafale for example, which was designed for multirole from the outset.

Its Ramadan, guys.

We should refrain from doing bad things, saying bad things about others...

But then ... there is matter about our great neighbor & its obssession with us.

So if one does Trash Talk 'em, it might actually be 'Sunat'.

Now, just a lil over 48hrs back, D.Trump thanked (only) Pakistan in his address to Congress.

And just like that, we got this from IDRW.org

Pakistan keen to purse F-16 amid Chinese fighter jet talks and Indias interest in F-35

Funny..., there hasn't been any "official" news out of PAF or MoD. Hell - there hasn't even been a single comment out of [PDF]*. [Pata nahe een ke amma ko khabar kaha say milti hai].

*By the way, most of Pakistan Defence-related news in India is taken from this Forum. India Today, TOI, their shitty YouTube Channels & their lame Defence analyst all fish around over here.

[Par phir bhee ye Chay.jpg awam ko sirf F-Shola nazar ata hai.]

Give India F-35, F-15EX...even that f#*kin' F-22. [Laikin - raat ko F-Shola kay drounay khuab aeyengay.]
