Will the PAF stop at 36 J10's?

Why not sell them back to China and have a pure J-35A fleet? ( i making an assumption here that PLAAF will convert then to their standard, or even another operator ?)

PS - we are heading into war, so expect some attrition losses.

Better to keep them and order another 36 and then move onto J35A.

J10C can be like a replacement of old F16's.

Your idea is weird......

1. The PAF's 20x J-10CE is not enough in the eyes of the PLAAF. The PLAAF already has about 300x J-10C. We also want to find someone to take over this batch of fighters.

2. The 5th-Gen fighter cannot replace the 4th-Gen fighter. They are in a cooperative relationship, not a replacement relationship.

The J-10C cannot be underestimated in the current scenario. These will act as force multipliers and are able to launch the PL-15 missile. If anything, PAF needs more J-10C.

Given the existential threat from Hindutva, it may be multiples of 36! The best thing these a/cs are manufactured across the Karakoram by the "world's industry" with ZERO outside inputs. The PAF pilots, with a 2.5:1 ratio, can just fly these single-pilot jets in mint conditions directly into the battles....

Probably need about 100 J-10C by 2035. The F-16 A and B models need to be phased out ASAP.
J10 numbers will remain limited, now PAF will induct j35 in limited numbers too, we can have high numbers for kaan or PFX in future

Recent J-10s in Egypt exercise were there for this purpose.

Pakistan’s next batch may be on hold because PAF is perhaps having difficulty securing further financing in lieu of what it already has secured wrt to J-35s.
J10s most probably remains max till 36 or less (depend sqr size), funds for more will allocated to J35s

would it not be wise to phase out older blocks of f16s, and replace them with J10s. The old f16 are at their end.

Not going to get Blk 70+ upgrades and there is no need to buy new f16s when J10 exists.

J10 can replace Mirage and F16 which speaks volumes to the capability of J10
PAF can't allocate funds on additional J20s , if they really are serious about J35.

We know our financial condition. Then two other possible potential project are in line, Kaan and PFX they also need serious fundings

By the time the new Rafales start turning up, I suspect the J-35A will be ready for PAF to procure. J10CE's are a bridge to J-35A, not an end in themselves.
Possibly Chinese term for road to J35 , precondition to procure J10s.
So market for J10 open up world wode

Remember operational cost J35 are twin engine jet whereas J10s are single without stealth coating that need to refreshed time to time

So operational cost of J10 will remain much then j35s
