J10C has proven it self now to help retire older F7 and Old Mirage (50-100)
Originally the plan was to acquire first generation between 2010-2014 however we ended up placing order much later, 2018-2019

However now , it is likely we will see more J10C in future

J-35 - 25% (New platform, planned)
J-10C - 25% (Proven platform, based on new performance)
JF17-III - 50% (Proven platform, on going plans)

But only PAK would know real figures or when the JF17 Block IV materialize
J10c procurement contract was signed in June 2021 between China and Pakistan goverment. merely 1 month after the induction ceremony,Imran Khan was kicked out of his office by the opposition party.
don't ever forget the efforts put by Musharaff and Imran Khan goverment , who induct JF 17 prduction line,,ZDK03 awacs and J10c.
both VT4 tank , HQ9b SAM, J10c fighters, 054A frigates ,SH15 howitzer, procurement contract was signed during Imran Khan tenure. He is a respected Pakistan leader and a true friend of China, while Americans hate him as hell.
After current Pakistan goverment step in, J10c induction course was obviously paused or suspended, so the current pakistan goverment is deemed as somehow pro USA or on the fence by lot of Chinese people.
When talking about China-Pakistan relations, most Chinese netizens try to avoid the problem between the two nations and say only nice things, but this is of no help to the long term relationship between the two countries.

J10c procurement contract was signed in June 2021 between China and Pakistan government.

Yes it was quite recently done , most people thought we would get it in 2014 but later it was found the deal was delayed on our end, till platform matures a bit. I believe it was will of Musharraf's Government to get this machine in Pakistan
  • Sword Class frigates (F22P), also under Musharraf's time
  • Initial discussions of J10 , first gen , started some where in Musharraf's Government between 1999-2007
  • 2009-2012 there were on and off rumors if we ordered it or not, we had a big thread on old forum for possible deliveries in 2014
  • There were also few natural calamity (Earth quake/flood) and some natural gas supply related issues which became higher priority between 2008-2012

The program was added back on menu , under Imran Khan under a strong special request from than Airforce head which turned out to be a correct decision. Special funds were allocated for J10C

And it is true China did add quite a bit more to J10C platform between 2014-2020, in term of tech and missiles

it is after J10c with WS10b domestic engine fully matured, PAF finally decided to go for it.

This is ignorant. China had no access to western trainings, systems and standards after 1989. Pakistan provided the insights and input, and Pakistan provided us with very valuable training inputs because they operate both Mid East aircrafts and their own. Their pilots are world class, and they did not downplay our contributions. Your name is Hendarto, where are you from? Don't split our bond.
Did you see any pakistani here?

I don't think Pakistan has any input in the design of the J-10 at all. The genesis of J 10 starts with J 9 back in the 1960s, but due to Cultural and low levels of industrial base, it never came to fruition. It had to wait until the 1980s when it was revived. But the experience gained in the design of J9 facilitates the development of J10. Song Wenchong was instrumental in the design of the J-10, and His assistant Yang Wei designed most of the fly-by-wire system. It was a rumor that the Israelis might help design fly by wire. But never confirmed!

I don't think Pakistan will risk cutting off spare parts by helping the Chinese, since they have to sign a "Nondisclosure agreement," and General Dynamics has personnel on the ground to guard against leakage of secret information. The best they can do is maybe give the design parameters of the F-16. Traditionally, Pakistan imports most of its weapons from the US and looks down on Chinese weapons. Only recently, in the 2000s, they source it from China because they were cut off from US supply

This topic is about the History, Performance & Discussion of Chengdu J-10.

English is not my native language, and the sources are also quite diverse, so if you have any suggestions please feel free.

Due to confidentiality reasons, I can only provide rough data, such as the names and approximate performance of radar, engines, and weapons.

J-9 (Canard) “The Predecessor of J-10”

On April 1, 1966, the “J-9 Aircraft Design Plan” was submitted. The National Defense Science and Technology Commission held a meeting to review the design plan of the J-9 aircraft and submitted the “J-9 Aircraft Tactical and Technical Demonstration Report” to the Central Military Commission. The report proposes that J-9 has a maximum speed of Mach 2.4, a ceiling of 21 km, a maximum range of 3000 km, a Radius of action of 600 km, a maximum endurance of 3 hours, and a maximum Rate of climb of 180~200 m/s. In order to enable the 601 Institute (Shenyang) to concentrate on developing the J-8, the development task of the J-9 was transferred to the newly formed 611 Institute (Chengdu) in April 1970.
In 1978, due to the urgent requirements for the J-7C undertaken by 611, the development work of the J-9 began to shrink. In 1980, in order to implement the national economic adjustment policy, the development of the J-9 was completely suspended. Due to the Cultural Revolution, the J-9 lasted for more than ten years and ultimately came to an end. Its achievements, especially the canard layout, abdominal air intake and medium range intercepting weapon Fire-control system, provide valuable experience for the development of J-10.

Like the “J-11”, the " J-10" is not a confirmed name, but this does not prevent us from referring to the early models that could only use PL-11 as the J-10. The image shows the earliest prototype, the J-10 “1001”.
The early J-10 differed from the J-10A in many details such as body shape and landing gear doors. Due to its initial intention to use the WS-10, the body shape was specifically optimized for the WS-10, and many positions were significantly different from the J-10A, which was confirmed to have undergone shape improvements after adopting the AL-31F.

The Chinese weapons and equipment equipped by the Pakistani army are the basis for the Pakistani army to challenge India in the war. I really don't understand why Shahbaz Sharif thanked the United States? It was after the visit of US Vice President Vance to India that India launched the war against Pakistan. Pakistan finally gained an upper hand, and the United States came over and said stop fighting. It's weird Pakistan prime minister thanked the United States, which is obviously an India's accomplice.

Is that a personal feeling of yours or held by larger Chinese society and government?

In terms of this conflict alone, the hot topic on Chinese social media is the air battle on May 7. People pay more attention to the comparison of military equipment and combat systems rather than international relations.
Finally, I think there should be more discussion about the J-10C of the PAF here, rather than all sorts of irrelevant stuff.

Shahbaz Sharif is fake Prime Minister, he lost the election but was still put their
by the Generals. The real PM is in prison.

我引用中国公开的数据。

In other words, this also proves that China is a country unwilling to intervene in the political struggles of other countries. The relationship between Pakistan and China has a long history. But Pakistan also has close ties with the United States, and they are already a 'balanced' country. I don't want to discuss politics here. At least one thing is that China has maintained close military exchanges with Pakistan on the issue of India. Whether it's J10 or 054A, if South Asia is completely dominated by India, the consequences are self-evident.

The U.S is a necessary evil, don't get me wrong most Pakistani don't hate the U.S apart from it's foreign policy and constant wars

But china is a reliable, long term ally for Pakistan and Pakistani trust China, the relationship is strong

Pakistan needs to expand it's economy, so we can find education, health care, military etc

The U.S and Europe continue to be one of Pakistans major trading partners , and Pakistan can't afford to cut them off without replacements when our economy needs all the support it can get

Our Pakistani diaspora which is one of the biggest in the world, also has large populations in the west I. uk, Europe, U.S and Canada etc
