i havent seen a C802 in years, i assume the PAF wasn't too keen on themC-802s too, they used to be seen pre CM-400AKGs, if we able to get JDAM LRs for the F-16s that would be pretty good

its a very new system so we wont get our hand on them , basically the US wont give us any SOW A2G munition.C-802s too, they used to be seen pre CM-400AKGs, if we able to get JDAM LRs for the F-16s that would be pretty good
You points are valid. Adding some more for a slightly different PoV that also should not be lost.
The force structure is what it is. F-16s are fully part of it. Pakistan may decide the cost-benefit analysis of the F-16 program, if being allowed to upgrade, is as such that it is worth foregoing standing up further sqns of J-10 or JF-17. We heard from the DCAS that our plans currently include buying more J-10s/JF-17s and of course the J-35. However, that is because the conversations on F-16s have not gone beyond sustainment yet. If Americans relent and offer the blk-70 package to Pakistan, air staff may revisit its plans.
Second, we don't need to customize if Pakistan gets the right mix of avionics and weapons just like we did in 2005.
Indians are constantly worried about the potential of Pakistani F-16 fleet (in addition to J-10s) because it is a leagues better multi-role platform than anything they have in their inventory aside from the Rafale. As Pakistan fields a potent offensive air/escort capability with the long-stick being delivered by J-35s/J-10s in the future, the F-16s can deliver devastating impact with precision attack and ground interdiction with massive tonnage under the protection of the long-stick (this assumes Pakistan does not get the latest version of AIM-120/260 so F-16s cannot fend for themselves against the threat of Meteor). This potential of firepower that F-16s can deliver is not lost on our air staff.
why do we make things up?So all those expenses with no future scalability, don't think its worth it.
I hope we get more HARMs, some quicksink/quickstrike kits, full integration with most modern REKs, harpoon integration. IA taimoor and rasoob 250 will also be integratedits a very new system so we wont get our hand on them , basically the US wont give us any SOW A2G munition.
Nice wishlist, also what do you mean more HARMs? We didn't have any in the first place, for A TO G at most they might sell us JDAM ERs, harpoon is basically useless for us also zero chance they will allow integration anyway.I hope we get more HARMs, some quicksink/quickstrike kits, full integration with most modern REKs, harpoon integration. Also don't even think about local weapon integration on those things.

Who says the new gen of american AAMs wont be fitted to the viper? the same viper that is around to stay for another 40 years...

Yes this specific contract size and value does indicate indirectly that PAF is fully investing in future of F-16s.........they wont if F-16s were gonna be useless in next 10 years only.

The U.S.'s New Missile Will Counter Chinese Fighters
The AIM-260 will “out stick” enemy fighters, shooting them down before they can shoot back.www.popularmechanics.com
Genatempo, as reported by Air Force Magazine, described JATM as a “next air-to-air air dominance weapon for our air-to-air fighters.” The missile will initially arm the F-22 Raptor, equipping the main weapons bay, and the Navy’s F/A-18E/F fighter jets. Deployment on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter will follow, but the missile will skip older generation jets such as the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon, both of which will still be around in the 2020s.

why dont you put forth your reasons that F16s will have new generation of A2A, rather trying act smarty pants?
This is stupid because aim-260 specifically designed to fit in footprint of aim-120 and its weight is constrained by the limits of f-16s pylons . I garuntee you they will come soon enough especially for nato partners f-16s
It's designed towards 5th gen platforms.
The AIM-260 undoubtedly offers marked improvements over the AIM-120, including in overall range. There remain questions, however, as to its maximum fly-out range and its end-game performance at extended ranges. The missile designer may have come up with a novel propulsion approach for the AIM-260 to address this, or perhaps there is an unseen development intended to provide a much longer-range engagement weapon. The USAF alternatively could rely on the tactical advantage of low-observable launch platforms, such as the F-22 and to a lesser extent the F-35, combined with the AIM-260’s performance to defeat aircraft with notionally longer-range missiles. Such an approach, however, will not work with the USAF’s ‘legacy’ fourth-generation fighters such as the F-15 and F-16.

Ultimate Clash Of Stealth Fighters! US F-22 Raptors To Get 'Next-Gen' AIM-260 Missiles To Counter China's J-20
Raytheon, a major US defense contractor, has announced significant advancements in the range and capabilities to its AIM-120 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM), positioning it closer to the performance benchmarks set for the secretive next-generation AIM-260 Joint Advanced...www.eurasiantimes.com
Plans include integrating the missile with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. However, it is reported that the AIM-260 will not be retrofitted to older aircraft models such as the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon.
Kid, you are not very smart are you? Spend more time on doing some research then letting go your motor mouth
