Ozgur is a far better upgrade n will upgrade our f 16 to a level equlant to block 70/72 standard if not further.
The radar developed under ozgur is GaN based unlike the apg 83 which is GaA based.
Plus it would increase the service life of the airframe from 8000 to 12000

But that's the beauty of this upgrade as after it u.s influence remains basically till the engine....but the further this program grows n it incorporates more things like short/long range missiles....

Yaar, you've been around both this & former [PDF] long enough to know the answer for that.

No Country is allowed to make any kind of changes to any US Military Equipment without their consent - and believe it or not, it includes !srael (too).

If you get their blessing, changes can be made, but under Licence.

Comparing two completely different systems which are configured and Utilized in different situations with their own specific missions is unfair .

F16s have a long and very proud record in PAF and we have a complete ecosystem from maintenance to training built around this beautiful machine . I had a pleasure of meeting with a senior pilot with thousands of hours on F16 who thinks F16 in many mission profiles is still better than J10s.

With both aircrafts networked and working together , they can wreck havoc on the enemy .
F16 configured in their ground mode is a beast to deal with .. J10 has no such role .

Billions are invested in infrastructure, mainly, training and weapons. Etc .
F16 needs to be upgraded so it can serve few more decades to come . J10 will continue to evolve and surprise our enemy .

Indians can learn everything about the F16 but nothing about J10…… that factor alone makes J10 critical for us plus not to mention upgrades and new AAMs for J10 which will always keep Indians guessing .

But the workhorse will remain F16 and as such deserve the respect and attention and a new upgrade.
