PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Alone to say the J-35A is Not operational shows he has no clue and to suggest Pakistan should oft for the J-20 proves him as a Clown. 🤔
That’s an old interview. Too quick to judge man.

And apologies if I may sound a bit rude but an average PAF sqdn Leader knows more about Chinese aircrafts than you or your entire bookshelf has ever had the chance to extract from random chinese forums.

Yes he says a lot, but nothing regarding to the J-35 and even less, that they will come soon. If you want, ask him on your own and do not overintetpret any BS into a fancy Fan-Made Patch.

At least Iā€˜m in constant exchance with him.
Your point is true. But China is focusing on robot and 3d printing materials quickly so I guess its possible they are manufactured faster than any country. However, I believe j35 is coming late 26 or 27. So I think your argument is becoming valid day by day.

Rtd Air Commodore Khalid Chishti regarding J-20 (although not gonna happen but the option has always been there šŸ˜‰)

Both of your statements are completely wrong.

1. Official agencies of both India and Pakistan love to engage in wars of words. They often use unrealistic and false statements to intimidate each other. These statements do not represent their true views and true capabilities.

2. Weapon systems are a very large subject. No one can know all the knowledge. Whether it is a soldier, a designer, a skilled worker, a military fan... they only know part of the knowledge in their respective fields. This is a completely different field. What anyone in the PAF knows does not overlap with what military fans know.

About J-20.
China has not completely banned the export of J-20. So far, the only official report was in 2016, when Ma Xiaotian, then commander of the PLAAF, said: "ē›®å‰ę¼-20ęš‚ę—¶ę²”ęœ‰å¤–é”€č®”åˆ’ļ¼ There is no plan to export the J-20 for the time being!"

But the J-20 is not suitable for the PAF. You can end the discussion about it.

He maybe knows more, but what he tells in the public is a different Story, and this Statement is clearly nonsense

Psyop obviously. It’s a common thing here

My intuition says that we will go for the J-35 (Naval variant) instead of the J-35A or perhaps combined.

There is also an element of ā€œoff the cuffā€ remarks.

But the to expect a retd officer even one with good links to his former institution to know everything accurately is also unfair.

Now those are picked up as regurgitated rumors means you’re just going to have to bear with it.

After all -
Audi states on its website that the 0-60 time on my car is 4.1 seconds yet Ive tested it on dragy at 3.7.

So sometimes even the manufacturer can be a little coy.

Man, you need to learn some basic knowledge first.

Once you understand the difference between carrier-based fighters and land-based fighters, you won't have this idea.

@StormBreaker the difference between carrier-based fighters and land-based fighters are below:
  1. Structural Differences
    • Carrier-Based Fighters (e.g. J-35 Naval Variant):
      • Stronger Landing Gear: Built to withstand the high-impact forces of carrier landings (arrested recovery).
      • Tailhook: Equipped with a tailhook to catch arresting wires on the carrier deck.
      • Wing Design: Often has foldable wings to save space on crowded carrier decks.
      • Corrosion Resistance: Treated to withstand harsh saltwater environments.
      • Reinforced Airframe: Built for the stresses of catapult launches (or ski-jump takeoffs).
    • Land-Based Fighters (e.g. J-35A):
      • Lighter construction: No need for heavy-duty landing gear or tailhooks.
      • Longer Range/Payload: Can carry more fuel/weapons since they don’t need carrier-specific reinforcements.
      • No Folding Wings: Not necessary for land-based operations.
  2. Operational Differences
    • Takeoff/Landing:
      • Carrier jets use catapults (or ski-jumps) and arrestor wires, while land-based jets use conventional runways.
    • Maintenance:
      • Naval fighters require more frequent maintenance due to saltwater exposure.

So, A naval fighter is heavier and less efficient for land-based operations.

No, plain and simple all this fuss about Pakistan getting J-35 soon, is now reconsidering to get naval J-35 or even J-20 instead of J-35A is is just all nonsense and PR-BS.

Pakistan will get them, later than some like to (not next month or this year) and esrlier than I expected initially but still not before 2027.

Some dramatic and unforeseen changes have taken place during the last month... Now , Pakistan is adamant on tot for the fifth generation aircraft....if Chinese refuse , KAAN is the viable option.... turkey has given a standing offer for joint production.... probability is high Pakistan will go KAAN.

This is actually a better option for Pakistan.
