PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

I don't, I just come to this thread for fun, few Pakistani members and one man Army @Deino Arguing over when J-35's will be coming, its just fun to read and enjoy :)
The most realistic people say that J-35 will come but not this year or maybe not 2026, but some people have already landed J-35's in Pakistan lOL
We are not in a hurry to induct 5th gen jets because our enemy have still not 5th gen jet so far if they are in a talks with US for F-35 or Russians for Su-57 they still have wait at least 2030-2032 time frame, or if they will reject all offer from USA for F-35 or Su-57 from Russia and go for their indigenous AMCA, AMCA will not come online before 2035, So we are not in a hurry to buy J-35

Should be in a hurry. When they induct 5th gen, Pakistan should be introducing 6th gen.

Also these timelines are not set in stone, we don't know what the future has in store. What we do know they have just attacked us so their intentions are clear.

F-16's are still formidable as many people have pointed out, with upgrades they can go toe toe with Rafale too, but lets see if Pakistan can grab something from Uncle SAM from this new friendly relationship, but I would def say 1 more full sq with 20 units will be a good gap for us, J-10CE is now a battle proven fighter, and adding that will replace 20 old fighter jets which can be used for other duties.
No, you're wrong, to counter Rafale we bought J-10C//PL-15 , F-16 with AMRAAM-C5 has no capability to counter Rafale/Meteor coombo

6th gen jets wont come to Pakistan before 2055-2060 then China will start development off 7th gen jets not needed before India will have 6th gen jets after 2050 time frame

and last we are not fighting with USA but India and India will not have 6th gen jets before 2050

Then good luck… if you refuse what you get offered, you won’t get a better offer.
Considering the hair that had to be pulled and angry meetings held to just get China to clear weapons and systems integration from other countries - the poster you quoted is in some jingoistic delusion and either unwittingly or willingly (which makes it even worse from a credibility PoV) refuses to budge in that perspective.

China is a supplier - a good supplier - but nonetheless each side has their interests and neither Pakistan or China can be “blamed” for acting the way they do in their interests but should be expected to behave more maturely instead of getting emotional in business.

If China hypothetically reneges on its J-35 offer timelines or conditions - Pakistan can refuse to buy it but then Kaan will be another decade out before operational status even if it ends up being a superior system or otherwise.

J-35 seems like the most logical choice. More mature platform from a more mature user with a higher threat environment and ITAR free components compared to Turkish components that are likely not going to be mature for a long while. Even from a price point China is likely to be cheaper.

Correct but Pakistan can use some of them for PFX.

@Deino please avoid. this guy seems an emotional one not rational one. we will be grateful to chinese if they gave us J35. Otherwise there is no one and not in the near future where we can get 5th-gen or produce one ourselves

Pakistan wants to have strategic independence and it's fine for America and the west ..... India has lost her charm for the west.....rest , your guess will be as good as mine , how it's going to work out ..... certainly , there are many pitfalls on the way .... you can come up with pros and cons and debate will be endless.

The Chinese while a reliable supplier are overly protective of their tech and don't let us modify the JF-17 without permission (which led to the PFX program), and here you are dreaming about J-35 TOT

Anyway what use is J-35 TOT? Any production site will be destroyed in a war. And no war with India will be long enough for local production to meaningfully help war effort.

PFX (mass produced in Turkey/GCC/safe third country), J-10C, J-35 (mass produced in China), and F-16V + F-15EX for heavy strikes (mass produced in the US) are the best options for PAF.

2060? China inducted J20 within 5 years after first test flight. So expect 2035 for 6th gen to be operational.
