I now understand why @MastanKhan has been so adamant about PAF's acquiring JH-7 for deep strike capabilities up to Bombay, Madras, Bangalore etc. The "souls" of Hindutva lie there along with Gujrat. They need to be covered ASAP....

If there is going to be any new block of JF-17, it should come with a Chinese engine with much more power and thrust then RD-93. Otherwise it's not worth putting Ferrari body on a mopid engine.

You forgot the fact that Pakistan bought a WS21 engine from China last year.
That can give you clues.

Its likely a continued localization of vital technology related to the JF-17.

After all, you need to have a very basic understanding and technological base, before you attempt to build a next gen fighter aircraft.

Once Pakistan is able to build vast majority of the thunder in Pakistan, using Pakistani alternatives to Chinese parts, only then can Pakistan even attempt to go for PFX.

Option 1 :Radar, ew, spj, sensor fusion, eots , comple air frame manufacturering , jf17 design elements, engine and then pfx

option 2: or just do them all in parallel with pfx ...

OptIon 2 takes longer time for sure may be 10 years but a good route to take ... there r no short cuts

I won't be surprised if the PAF purchases some jets and keep them along with pilots inside China. They can fly home during the time of war.....

I am damn sure this has been happening already, Perhaps during the last year conflict too.

The remaining J-10Cs and probably some Thunders of squadron strength might already be based in China as backup.

Don't believe in Indian news source, they often presented these news a bit exaggerated, and you still believe J-35AE will come Dec 2026? In my best guestimates J-35AE will come to PAF in 2027-2028 time-frame not in 2026, Look dude First customer of J-35A is PLAAF which need it to face USN/USAF F-35s in east Asia and in South China Sea and need them in relatively short period of time PAF will not be first customer of J-35 for sure and your 2026 claim is quite ridiculous and funny, Currently J-35 is in low rate initial production stage and initial flight testing phase on Fujian aircraft carrier, So how it is possible that China will Produce hundreds of J-35 within a few months? think about it

The difference between December 2026 and 2027 is one day. @maverick faced alot of criticism to suggest J35 is coming dec 2026, but May 2026 J35 is being built, China has J20 ready for the Usa, J35 to use on aircraft carriers will take years of practise and building tactics, the aircraft carriers are new aswell. If the deal is done Pakistan can easily get just say 10 in December or around March 2027.

Some PDF experts were saying J35 doesnt exist, or has only one prototype, and some saying J31 is different plane, so how can it be delivered in Dec 2026, but we all were wrong. J35 for airforce is in production.
