PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Compared to building a HAS, it is better to expand the ADIZ.

Active defence, new protocols on moving jets around and decoys are a better strategy than HAS. Ukraine has learnt alot on how to keep its jets safe on the ground, and PAF should spend some time working that out.

However that is not say the fighter race is redundant. Eventually countries will realise that satellites will need to be taken out as part of a conflict, and then the side with best fighters will find themselves in the driving seat. But that is 50 years away.

A satellites roughly costs same as a modern 4.5/5 generation fighter jet these days. If an airforce can have 500 fighter jets, it can also have 100 satellites. Taking 100 satellites is not a simple task.

Coming back to your original argument, I agree . Thats why i believe now countries will be focusing more on very long range fighter jets that have combat radius of 2500 km+. So that they can be parked very far away from enemy country border/assets. This is one such solution that may be explored. I believe options such as J-36 and J-50 already offers similar ranges.
