Well, they have lasted 70 years and survived countless wars and poltical upheavals on both sides, I would not write it off, although I imagine rest of the world would love to see a Chinese/Pak split

No, the Chinese understand that arrogance equals stupidity. But China will have its own ideas and strategies. Just because we disagree with each other does not equal arrogance.
I answered you before and I'll repeat it. The Chinese generally believe in the idea that "what's free is the most expensive." You can think for yourself about the logic in this statement. Or let me remind you from another angle, if you are a child, would you rather your parents give you a little bit of money every day and let you live half-dead for the rest of your life, or invest in your education so that you can have a bright future?
In fact, many PDF China members here are reluctant to tell you directly because of the China-Pakistan friendship, and the bloodless independence of Pakistan and India is the first free gift you get. But equally the most expensive gift. The whole of South Asia has been paying the price for this "free" gift till now.

Don't know how you got to the conclusion that Pakistan wants free gifts from china....when I was talking about American generosity I was pointing out her trait... generosity was not exclusively for Pakistan...does Marshall fund ring some bells?...... bloodless independence ? ... Good lord ! Do you know how many million were killed during partition ?

Increasingly sophisticated arms can encourage escalation and impact can be less certain. The F-35 is far more capable than any Rafale variant technically and more stealthy than the J-20 as per a complex simulation study. The J-35 might be at par with the F-35 but the US is now producing 5+ gen Block 4 variant so not sure. The F-35 offers much better situational awareness than any Rafale variant and can provide a window of opportunity to slip through defenses along the massive border and/or help soften them from a distance. It might also be difficult to engage the F-35 in the BVR regime due to its stealth and sophisticated EW capability.
However, the F-35 is incompatible with the Indian force structure in its current form. The IAF is not prepared to induct the F-35 in its current form as it has to create an advanced infrastructure to maintain a fleet of the F-35 and Indian pilots need extensive training to understand the aircraft and utilize it properly. These matters have costs and American terms and conditions are to be met. Indians are also using S-400 systems and want to buy more from Russia, this choice is not in line with American interests. And how the IAF will make the F-35 interoperable with Russian platforms? The IAF already have shortcomings in C4ISR. Indians are better off with addressing this shortcoming and finding a partner for AMCA or develop it locally. The Arms race should slow down ideally.

I‘m still waiting for the surprise promised some years ago (2022 I think?) by similar enthusiastic guys claiming Pakistan already operates a squadron of J-20, it will get soon the Liaoning + some J-15 and also J-16 are on the table as well as Block 70 F-16s and ex-RAF Typhoons?
So let‘s wait and then celebrate together (even if I know I need to drink the Champagne alone!)

Seeing some emotionally charged comments and statements about relationship division, to be honest, this is not something that ordinary people get involved in. Both countries have elite politics. Our online opinions are irrelevant. Both Pakistan and China have various relationships and exchanges with the United States. India is another matter, and its biggest potential is to strive to develop its own next-generation missile drones and defense systems. The focus of the debate on J35 is whether the delivery time is too late or too early, which is meaningless. Firstly, in the description of the future air combat system on PAF's official website, there is a J35 image, which seems to be placed in the center position. This proves that J35 is in a very important position for PAF's future air networking. It integrates a system that includes drones and missiles, and is more likely to have started experiments as early as when the J10 was introduced. Secondly, PLAA and PAF are two completely different data links. PAF will integrate J35 into its own combat system, which is different from the half baked J10c. J35 has already considered foreign trade design in the prototype stage. The J35 that Pakistan participated in is likely their customized version, so the timeline should not be referenced to the J35 of the Chinese Air Force or Navy at all. But it's the official Pakistan. Based on my speculation, the current concentrated release of news about J35 by online media seems more like a propaganda war against India, but on the other hand, such intensive publicity indicates that a Pakistani version of J35 will definitely arrive.
