PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

The same is true for the PAF; the J-10C was originally an air superiority fighter, but its foreign trade version (PAF version) became a multi-mission fighter. I personally don't agree with this choice of PAF. I think PAF should have opted for a purely air superiority version of the J-10CE.
Wouldn't the J10C being an air superiority fighter vs being multi-mission depend entirely on the specific load-out used for the particular type of mission?

In what sense did it become a multi-mission fighter from air superiority, what inherent specs were changed? Radar?

Hi,

@Deino Listen to Sahni---after 20 minute mark---.

He is acknowledging china will give the best equipment to pakistan---the TOP LINE EQUIPMENT---.

China already gave the topline equipment that pakistan asked for---.

Extended range PL15---topline J10CE---& a few other items.

No one has talked about the navy's type 054's yet---.

True. Sawhney always brings interesting observations. We already saw pl15e hitting targets at 190kms something an export model wasn't supposed to do. Lol.

Actually, yes you do, you cannot claim to know about a military's procurement timeline and the exact nature of the specs they are receiving without credible sources, and more importantly if your reference is purely online fanboys and hopeful guesswork despite hard facts not even aligning with your predictions then your credibility and word is worthless.
Hi,

Son--I am 68 years old---. I don't know any online fanboys or the likes---but am disappointed at your such shallow outlook---.

My reference is books---books and lots of books for which---you have to go to the libraries & book stores & when I lived in pakistan---on Zaib un Nisa street sidewalks in karachi on sunday looking for subject matter displayed on the sidewalks or to the used book stores in Nursery Karachi---defense related articles---and then having to ability to retain & recall what you read and what you learnt and put the pieces together.

You know what a Library is---library is something that most pakistanis are not used to going to---.

Please put me on your IGNORE list lest I may upset you.

Pravin Sawhney is not an authoritative source on Chinese military matters. He has zero credible inside sources about the relationship between China Pakistan.

He's merely an analyst that makes  predictions and is often wrong, taken from online fanpages.

I have been following this bloke for the last 5 years at least now, and he is pretty much right about everything he commented on for Pakistan-China and the straetgic direction and politics. He is not a Chinese 'equipment' expert, and no one show view him through that angle. His angle is strategic politics and strategy. Everything. What we are seeing now, he predicted accurately when 370 was revoked.

Why would I tell you my source? Who are you anyway - some random troll?
Because most of us not believe that J-35A will not come that early to PAF, logic and common sense says it wont come before at least before 2028-2030 time-frame, First customers of J-35A will be PLAAF not PAF

They should be the second line of defense now unless they get upgraded with AESA radars and better BVR missiles.
Since 1984, the F-16 Fighting Falcon has served as the cornerstone of the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) combat capability, operating as the principal platform in both offensive strike packages and defensive counter-air missions. However, during the most recent conflict, for the first time in four decades, the PAF executed one of its largest Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air engagements without deploying F-16s. This strategic decision reflects a significant milestone in the operational maturity and technological self-reliance of the PAF, marking a departure from historical dependence on U.S.-supplied platforms and mitigating vulnerability to external political leverage and restrictions.

Looking ahead, with the anticipated induction of fifth-generation platforms such as the J-31/FC-31 and other advanced multirole fighters, the F-16 is expected to transition into a secondary or support role within the PAF’s evolving force structure.

Why we don't need one?
Because H-20 is strategic Bomber with intercontinental range and our enemy is in our next door, we nee deep strike fighter bomber which can defend itself from enemy, like J-16/Su-34 but may be we are looking to another project of China in development Named JH-XX which is more suitable to Pakistan than H-20

Its all about priorities. Pakistan can reduce army size by 100K to compensate air force/missile development. Its the way forward.
Stealth aircraft is a totally different ball game.
Airframe Composites, RAM, Engine, all new for PAF. They also never operated twin engine before, and as final engine for J-35A not fully designed/certified, ws15/15/19 tbo ~ ≥ 800 ≤ 1500 hrs, service life ~ 3000/4000 hrs max?? Not bad, comparable to rd93.

It will be an expensive package but also a good learning experience and to align with Chinese technologies in engine metallurgy and Airframe technologies.
