Come' on guys! Leave the extremes. J-35A will come in 4-5 years once we clear J-10C payments or good part of it and J-35A got matured. Remember, PAF didn't accept J-10A when it was offered. No way PAF is going to accept and induct a half baked fighter. PAF can induct more J-10CEs and Block IIIs which will make perfect sense considering our threat environment where a war is imminent in next 2-3 months as per many reports and claims. Indian are not going to get their next gen fighter in next 5 years even if they sign an agreement tomorrow. We need to focus on many other things and I believe after recent engagement with India, priorities have shifted for PAF as well. More ADS are required along with more J-10CEs in short term instead of J-35A.

The video where they specifically mentioned J-31 was scrubbed, but there's one still kicking around with them saying "the foundation for inducting 5th-gen fighters has been laid" with very clear videos of the J-31 being shown.

The second video is from RTE Urdu (Turkish news media) released on 3 January 2024. This 10 second video (narrated in femail voice) contains clips of the Air Chief and clips of a J-31 mashed together, along with a one liner caption attributed to the air chief.

The one liner quote is what the tweeteratis had popularised the day before on 2 January 2024.

Is there a longer version of the second one? If there's is one, maybe there's hope for J-31 in PAF otherwise the fifth generation mentioned in the promotional video could simply be referring to Project Azm and/or PAF's participation with KAAN a few years earlier.

Its very simple to assess the situation yourself. If any world media is portraying a certain group or a nation as "bad" and a war is looming in the context, we know what is happening. That's 5th generation warfare at play, a narrative is being made.

If there is intelligence based news that doesn't start a conflict and just dies down in a few days. That's when you know the news was source based. Not to start a war or conflict, just a regular news without blaming, defaming or building a narrative against a group of people or a country.

I doubt it when ISPR wants to leak a secret, Zarvan and MastanKhan immediately come to their minds, otherwise Zarvan and MastanKhan wouldn't have spent years trying to convince everyone that they are military's Chosen Ones.

I saw the original video (with the female narrator). That is an exact clip from a PAF DGPR video, but for whatever reason the PAF deleted it. However, I'll vouch that the J-31 video was real and the statement within it was also real. In fact, many of the members here had all seen that specific video when it first came out.

I saw this clip at the time as I’m sure others did. He definitely said ‘foundation had been laid’, ‘near future’ etc, no doubt about it. While that in no way means delivery is imminent, I have no idea where this whole, he never said it thing has just popped up from.

I agree. The PAF itself awarded all 6 of its kills to the J-10CE. The J-10CE is available today and can be delivered pretty quickly. Its upfront cost is also relatively good. And the PAF always plans for 80+ units when it inducts a new platform.

There's literally every logical sign of there being more J-10CE orders ahead of some J-35AE induction. I also think the J-35AE would likely be sought for after 2030 and to start replacing the F-16A/Bs.

Using the story of PAF rejecting the J-10A as an analogy to the FC-31/J-35 is inappropriate.
I agree that PAF will not introduce new immature fighters.
However, the development background of FC-31/J-35 is totally different from J-10 series.

J-10 is the first 3rd-Gen (later renamed call as 4th-Gen) fighter developed by China. At that time, China's related technology was very backward and the R&D funds it could provide were very small. At the same time, all the subsystems of the fighter needed to be re-developed.

The situation facing the FC-31/J-35 is quite different.

The video must've been released on the day of the statement which was 2 January 2024 and removed at some time before 16 January 2024.

Israel doesn't have the capability to operate the B-2s and the US doesn't have the capacity to just hand over their stockpile of bunker busters, which they used half of during the Iran bombing run.

Its such a big target on the ground that an attacking nation would 100% destroy it, before Israel even has a chance to fly them to safety.

J10 A was never offered---. Musharraf made the deal for 36---and the changes that the Paf requested were making of the J10B---.
