Pakistan were hoping that offering support would mean they stop making them a target. Before Taliban, Afghanistan were still attacking.

Pakistan has hosted their refugees for decades and offered full support and they still f**ked them over

Afghans played both Imran Khan and the state of Pakistan and they will continue to use our love and fondness for them to their advantage.
they will always use every chance to hurt Pakistan, they dont recognize the border and claim it up to Attock as theirs.

doesn't matter if its godless Tajiks and communist northern alliance or the Deobandi Pashtun Taliban, they use the romantic fondness of Punjabis and the ethnic and ideological agreement of Pakistani Pashtuns to their advantage and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

What is the endgame that has been planned ? DG ISPR did not even acknowledge the strike against the TTP leadership.

Not just suicide bombings, add other nerve wrecking tactics to the mix, there would be targeted assassinations of public and religious figures, leading to Sectarian strife..

Attacks on mazars, such as Bari Imam, Data Darbar and so on..

If there was FATA, it would have been technically more easier. The merger of FaTA with KPK was a botched job done for short term political goal. Even Fazlur Rahman understood this.

Seems the Chinese want Afghanistan-Pakistan to move on from the past and build a future in partnership with China based on trade and minerals. They also want to integrate both countries into CPEC. They will not be happy with the recent developments.

Well I think its pretty clear for everyone to see that Afghanistan is in no mood to listen to China.

The fact that they still preferred to go to India after almost a year of China/Pakistan trying to court them, says it all. Durand line will always keep Pakistan/Afghanistan at odds. It kept them at odds even at the best of times, let alone the worst.

Explains why Pakistan and Saudi announced the defense pact. It will keep India from getting any ideas while we work on Afghanistan.

I understand. seeing how Afghans attack Pakistanis on cricket ground and streets its no surprise that Indians don't need to act as Afghans to post hate on Pakistan. what is disturbing is our own fellow Pakistanis joining this hatred due to their politics.

There is an eerie resemblance between the Indian bloggers and followers of a certain political party of Pakistan. And even more puzzling is that some senior members here, especially the expats, had no issues with 'the Establishment', until their Messiah Khan, after being toppled through a No Confidence Motion, distanced himself from the 'same page' mantra and started to attack the Establishment. Until then, some of those expats even denied the presence of 'the Establishment'. And in their hatred of the 'old order', they don't see how cunningly dangerous their Messiah Khan really is.
But I have always known the Establishment. In my Karachi University post graduation year book, a question was 'Who do you hate the most?'. And I answered 'The Pakistani Army Generals'. But that was in 1990 and since then I have gained enough knowledge to change my views.

Afghanistan tactic: support and harbour TTP - TTP attacks Pakistan > Pakistan issues diplomatic protest > Afghanistan provides "reassurances" > attacks continue unabated.

This cycle needs to end.

1/ sustained pressure from air.
2/shallow punishing raids with overwhelming force.

Exact a toll for every attack, don’t give target in return.

Did you even read and properly comprehend the post you are replying to?

No one is against the return of undocumented migrants/refugees. But people born here and stuck in legal limbo are being shafted off as well.

If your strategy is to racially profile people in Islamabad and pick up anyone who looks like pathan, then you need to revisit an ethics class.

Islamabad was literally made into a free racism against Pathans zone for months by the police and interior ministry, it was shameful.

Your whole premise is wrong. This issue is not about racism, this is not about discrimination, nobody mentioned "picking up Pathans". In fact if that statement came ot your mind then you need to look into your own racism.

If someone is undocumented, they should not be here. It simple law that goes on in the whole world. There is nothing so overly ominous about it. Afghanistan is not at war no more. When US/UK/Middle East send back undocumented people nobody cries and screams about "political limbo or racial profiling or discrimination etc, etc". It happens to Pakistanis in other countries too. Again, its not something being done to Afghans specifically, that happens to nobody else in the world.

Did you read the FT article I posted ? It says Taliban are unwilling to tackle TTP partially for ideological reasons but more so as leverage against Pakistan to get diplomatic recognition and to keep TTP away from ISIS-K.

So instead of multiple waves of bombing Afghanistan and expelling refugees, which have proven ineffective, a better way could be to diplomatically recognize Taliban and work with it against ISIS-K. In return you can then ask Taliban to let go of TTP. The Taliban remember how Pakistan dumped them overnight and want reassurances to remain in power.

The faujis are misreading everything and again acting like wild bulls in a china shop.

I recall , back them we were told that COAS is like a Father of the country and must be respected. had Gen Faiz won the race to the COAS then that same page would've extended to present times. goes to show how sincere our "democratic" leaders are to their words.

everything in Pakistan has become an egotistic war between the god Emperor Khan and Hafiz in GHQ, the entire political discourse is over the greatness of one and the badness of the others. whether people of KP drown or get blown up, that doesn't matter but entire KP resources or spent on everything but for the betterment of this godforsaken province.
the war in May was a big chance for both warring parties to use it to announce a truce and reconciliation for the sake of unity and defence of the country and neither party (PTI and GHQ) wouldve risked facing the mockery of doing a deal out of fear but sadly the size of egos is bigger than the country on either side.

we really need to come back to the topic.
is the TTP leader confirmed dead? who else died with him? any follow up on the story? other than the attack by Taliban on the border posts and the TTP attack on police lines I have not seen anything else.
