The Sikhs mock Afghans during their historical battles the Afghans were so scared they wore female clothes to evade capture.
Sidhu Musiwalah mentioned this in one of his songs.

we definitely could , u forget we have been fighting in the mountains and cold for years
We cannot even make Karakoram Highway open all year to trade with China and this is just as bad if not worse. Unless you cut mountains or make tunnels or invest crazy amount of money then it could maybe work.

Why are Pakistanis so obsessed with how India engages Afghanistan and its leaders? We'll deal with them in whatever way suits our interests. If the US and other countries can cut deals with dictators and warlords when it suits them, we’re more than capable of doing the same with the Taliban, no lectures needed.

Yes, we do not care about whatever the hell India does, neither does mot of the world for that matter, you are not that important.

That said, we have dealt with Taliban too. Maybe you have no option because India is totally isolates, yes ... but dealing with Taliban is extremely short sighted and stupid. All we can say is "told you so", when its too late !

India needs to keep an eye on where it matters right now, Ladakh and NE, not run shenanigans with Taliban.

What? Why? So they can start supporting these groups as a leverage against Pakistan? With US comes rat Israelis few miles away from the border with capability to collect datapoints. Surely, you and others like you cough @Distant_Observer can't be this ret*rded can you?

Trump gave the talibs lose lose decision.

If they had given bagram then they would have used it has a base to attack the TTP/BLA border positions.

If they refuse Pakistan will do it anyway.

By demanding bagram he left no way out for the talibs.

They all know they were never going to give it.

No foreign minister of any Muslim majority country has ever visited Deoband. Why this exception?
Why wasn't he ALSO taken to the Swaminarayan Temple in Delhi or the Ram Lulla Temple in Ayodhya (since he was visiting UP anyway).

indians have always played their Muslim card when it suits them. They have all kinds of indian Muslims available to serve chaddi cause.

Please treat it as a live operation till official update from ISPR.

Rats and their sponsors are really suffering, they will plan some drama.
Conditions for ceasefire , without any ifs and buts, are given to Talibans through influential mediators .... let's see how it pans out.

Well thats the crux. We have failed to manage ‘some’ madrassahs that are a breeding ground for takfiri ideology.

Eventually as part of long term objectives, Pakistan will have to tackle these breeding grounds however unpopular it may be.

Firstly, it's not going to be an unpopular thing. Pakistani people are intrinsically progressive with their religious dogma but how do you imagine this can be 'tackled' without blurring the line between 'church' and the State. Let me hear some progressive ideas as how you intend to bail this unnecessary paapar.

PAF should target Afghan military installations- radars on the priority list, air defenses and then logistics.
Do they have any air defences and radars?

At the moment they're just surviving on the military equipment the US had left behind.

Then Pakistan does it. You need to read up on Clausewitz and remarkable trinity - Chance, passion, policy. You advocating for a power that's more or less openly an Entity backing hegemonic power hellbent against Muslims right in the backyard of the sole nuclear power in the Islamic world. Jeez I wonder how that will turn out? Ask Turkey....

May peace prevail both side of border. We been fighting other's war since 79. Also Taliban should stop take the responsibility of spreading Islam, we have enough Islam less humanity.

"In an interaction with reporters Friday, Muttaqi had highlighted the significance of his visit to Deoband, saying it has a long history with Afghanistan. “Deoband is a significant religious place for us. This place and its people have a long history with Afghanistan. The way our students come here to study engineering and science, they also come here for religious studies,” he said, according to PTI."

Don't see the issue here, what are you implying?

The Deoband seminary has promoted a particular " school of thought" based loosely on the Wahabi doctrine, but a far more rigid version. It's influence was more on a section of North Indian "cow belt" Muslims, prior to and immediately after the Partition of India. The "school of thought " was promoted by the North Indian "cow belt" cleric Maulana Maududi whose writings have been translated into English, Hindi, Arabic, Pashto, Persian, Turkish and Bengali. Afghanistan with its syncretic Sufi tribal culture down the ages, and its 100 year era of left wing liberalism ( particularly from the 1945-1980 ) had until the Taliban takeover NOTHING traditionally in common with the Deoband seminary which in any case has changed far beyond what it once was in the mid to late 1940s. NO Afghan foreign minister or head of state ( not even Hamid Karzai who was educated in India) has ever visited Deoband or even mentioned any connection, If Deoband had any connection outside India it was briefly in the mid 1950s when Maududi toured Saudi Arabia and eventually left India to settle in Pakistan. Ironically it is Pakistan that should claim a connection to Deoband not Afghanistan. But your External Affairs Minister singularly ignorant about various sects and deviations in Islamic theological doctrine wouldn't know that.
