While I don't presume to know the details of the army and FC operations against the taliban. I can however guess that it's the taliban who need these ceasefire more than the army and FC.

Pakistan shouldn't have accepted it without condition. Make them say publicly that they need a ceasefire.
Rule 101 of diplomacy.....if you don't want an all out war and seek unconditional surrender than give face saving to the opponent for a diplomatic solution.

@gamaji

Most of NRF appear to be more logical and pragmatic that these Kandahari terrorist gang.

So why were you guys cheering when the NRF got ousted by your Kandhari friends on Aug 15, 2021?

Regards
  • That was a very different brass made up of Imran Khan/ Bajwa /Faiz Hameed who were more focused on integrating with Taliban, than driving them off.
  • The Current bras is very different and obviously has no tendencies like that, the focus is more on inviting other countries for natural resource explorations and development, which needs a completely different environment. Also they have developed their foreign relations in a way that they are more aligned to int'l powers than local alliances.
  • Previous Govt was more of an ideologically driven and governed by idealism/ideals, which works with having hardline groups like Taliban at hour side
  • Current one is focused on infrastructure and economics, which requires the country to be stable and trouble free, hence no tolerance of groups like Taliban in destabilization of Pakistan.
Take it as a complete policy change as the friends of old are simply not the friends of the new.

Also i see Pakistani drone strike videos where they are only targeting buildings while letting go the Talis . The Talis dont need buildings . dont waste ammo on Buildings, instead go after the personnel. Thats the only way of defeating them. Its not a conventional force and they dont fight a conventional war.

I noticed that too , probably unintentional.

In the meantime, this all Afghanistan can do...

So, is Sirajuddin Haqqani our new top guy?
He said this yesterday in Paktika, surprisingly in the open, when no other leader had been seen during our clashes with the IEA. Internal TTA clashes prolly?

"During his recent visit to Paktika province, Interior Minister of Taliban Sirajuddin Haqqani criticized certain senior officials for claiming credit for Afghanistan’s jihad and the sacrifices made during it.
Haqqani said that some high-ranking figures are trying to take credit for the struggle and martyrdom of others."

There have been reports between the haqqanis and the central leadership from the beginning.

The haqqanis, while being conservative themselves, were openly against stopping women from going to school, or working. While I have no evidence, there have been reports that the haqqanis have been openly defiant of Akhundzada's policies in territories that they rule.

I assume, if the rumors are true, Pakistan may be grooming the haqqanis to be the successors to the current taliban leadership.

Or

This may be (and I hope this is the case) a Pakistan looking to break Afghanistan into two competing governments.

Now they are claiming that "Pakistan had agreed that the ceasefire would be fully implemented; but shortly after, it limited its duration to 48 hours, and with this action, it has violated the ceasefire agreement."

If Pakistan was requesting and insisting for a ceasefire, why these liar Afghanis are now complaining after Pak has resumed its operations?

Actually, I wasn't referring to the Pak top brass at all! I was referring to my PDF friends here (who were then on the old PDF) who were cheering the victory of the "Kandhari gang" and making fun of us Indians.

You may want to login to the old PDF forum and check the comments of the Pak members there.

That's one way to do it.

Another is to start targeting the leadership, until someone comes to their sense and say no more war, we agree to stop funding the ttp and bla.

Thats uncalled for . Lets not become Israel. Target only those who are fighting.
Every country deports illegal immigrants. Pakistanis themselves get deported from other countries. Afghanistan is not at war with USSR or US anymore, so illegal immigrants need to leave. They were not invited here unconditionally. If anyone is a registered citizen they can stay, if not then they leave. Pakistan is not doing anything illegal at all. Further, Pakistan has no requirement to distinguish who is fighting or not fighting.

Stop holding Pakistan to standards and conditions that no other country in the world allows at all, by far, or even remotely. If you do, then go out and preach the UK Govt to follow the same rules. If you cannot, then stop lecturing Pakistan.

Also, Israel is taking land of Palestine, Pakistan is not taking anyone's lands, it is enforcing country's law within its own territory, so that is a completely false equivalence.

To be fair, a lot of people, including myself had misgivings and were distrustful of the taliban.

A lot of us predicted this war would occur, and were laughed at.
