I got what you said. I was reinforcing your point by adding that we have no desire, no intention on any of their land.
Yes. To further elaborate, we don’t have any desire or designs for their land. They can live in peace. On the other hand they can choose between having a friendly regime or no regime there.

And our problem of refugee blowback is not there anymore either. Non will be taken and borders are hardened.

Ceasefire might not hold as Afghan Taliban have become proxy for Delhi: Asif

October 15, 2025

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday expressed a lack of confidence in the 48-hour ceasefire agreed between Pakistan and Afghanistan, as the latter has become a “proxy of Delhi”.

Today’s fighting was the third major skirmish between Pakistan and Afghanistan within a week, following the incident in Kurram last night and earlier skirmishes that began on Saturday night and continued into Sunday morning at several locations.

Speaking on Geo News programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada ke Saath’ on Wednesday night, the defence minister said that the Afghan Taliban are “fighting a proxy war” on behalf of India and stated that they have become a “stooge” for New Delhi.

“I have my doubts that the ceasefire will hold, because the [Afghan] Taliban are being sponsored by Delhi,” he added. “Right now, Kabul is fighting a proxy war for Delhi.”

Asif reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness and capability to defend itself in the face of further aggression from Kabul.

“We have the capability and we will attack them, God willing, if they escalate or widen the radius of this war,” he said. “There have been deep strikes in Afghanistan and a ceasefire was agreed on after the intervention of friendly countries, but it is fragile. I don’t believe this will last long.”

However, Asif added that in this situation, Pakistan will respond positively to any constructive dialogue, but will not tolerate ceasefire violations or attacks on its territory.

Tauba karro yara. Pakistan has no desire to take over Afghanistan. We don't even want what is on the other side of the DL if they reconcile with what we are left with on our end. We have no claim on any of their territory.
By taking control of part of Afghanistan, we can compel them to negotiate and accept the Durand Line as the permanent border with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. After that we can return their land and close this matter for good. We have no intentions to capture Afghanistan but can use it as a leverage to end the debate of Durand Line for Afghanis

Not just him.
idhar frustration nikaali jati hay. kisi ne koi baat to kisi ki maani nai hoti. bus apni soch aur apni ideology propagate karo. convince koi nai hota yahan pe, chahay koi bhi ho.
The joys of on-line forums. If our leaders cannot agree, forget about the man on the street. Although the rancor would be much less if both governments did not add to the poison/propaganda.

Their whole claim to fame is drawing forces in. We have the advantage to sit cozy on our side and make it impossible to govern.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban regime have agreed to a 48-hour ceasefire, starting today at 6pm, following Pakistan’s ‘precision strikes’ on Taliban and terrorist hideouts in Kandahar and Kabul.

According to the ministry, the decision was made at the Taliban’s request and with the mutual consent of both sides. During the ceasefire, both parties will hold constructive dialogue to make sincere efforts to find a positive solution to a complex but solvable issue, the ministry added.

“This temporary pause aims at creating space for meaningful discussions and promote stability along the border,” the ministry said in a statement.

Pakistan carried out 'precision strikes' against Afghan Taliban regime and terrorist hideouts in Kandahar and Kabul, destroying several Taliban battalion headquarters, according to security sources.

In Kandahar, the Pakistan Army struck Battalion Headquarters 4 and 8, as well as Border Brigade 5. “All targets were carefully selected to strike that were isolated from civilian populations and were successfully destroyed,” said security officials.

In Kabul, the operation targeted the leadership and central hub of the Fitna al-Hindustan network. Security sources emphasised, Pakistan Army is fully capable of giving befitting response to any act of aggression.

“These operations demonstrate our capability to precisely neutralise terrorist infrastructure while minimising risks to civilians,” officials added.

Tensions flared after Taliban forces launched an attack in Kurram region last night. Afghan Taliban regime, along with TTP terrorists, referred to by the government as 'Fitna al-Khawarij', opened indiscriminate fire on Pakistani positions, prompting a strong and decisive response from the Pakistan Army.

The retaliatory strikes reportedly inflicted significant damage to multiple Taliban posts. Security officials said, a Taliban regime tank was destroyed, and fighters were seen fleeing their positions, leaving behind several bodies of their fallen comrades.

In another engagement within the Kurram sector, a moving tank was precisely targeted and destroyed, described by sources as a ‘highly professional and skillful strike’.

Security sources also confirmed that the Pakistan Army struck the training camp of militants in Naeem, across the border, which was used to train insurgents for operations in the Kurram sector.

Afghan Taliban regime attack at Chaman border

In a major escalation along the Pak-Afghan border, Afghan Taliban regime, in coordination with terrorists linked to Fitna al-Khawarij, launched attacks at three different points near the Chaman border early on Wednesday morning.

The Pakistan Army responded swiftly, killing at least 20 terrorists and forcing the rest to retreat, said security sources. According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack occured at four different locations in Spin Boldak area of Balochistan.

During the attack, terrorists blew up the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate, a key crossing point that facilitates trade and civilian movement between the two countries. Officials said the destruction of the gate demonstrates the Afghan Taliban’s opposition to legitimate cross-border commerce and regional stability.

Youre probably too young and ignorant, that's why you don't know that Afghanistan was a thriving democracy in the 60s and 70s. We didn't need Soviet socialism or western capitalism.
That all ended when Pakistan was propped up by the west. We were forced to join in on the soviets, and the rest is a history as they say. CIA, Pakistan, Saudi, madrasas, terrorism, depashtunization, WOT, Taliban 2.0 and cavemen of 2026.
While I respect your sentiments, I find them misplaced, perhaps deliberately. Emotions do take a toll on reality. Afghanistan never had a fully functional democracy in the 60s or 70s, or ever, let alone a "thriving" one. A lot that you are saying is inaccurate. Neither Pakistan or the US forced Afghans (PDA government) to turn to the Soviets. Both intervened only after the Soviets had already arrived and local resistance was underway.

Hope they come to realization without Pakistan ever having to do this, but establishing a buffer zone is a possibility. Maybe the Taliban will realize a better path is one of non-confrontation with Pakistan.

In a separate statement earlier during the day, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security forces foiled on Wednesday four attacks by Afghan Taliban in Spin Boldak area of Balochistan.

“The Afghan Taliban also destroyed Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate on their side that clearly displays the mindset with regards to mutual trade and easement rights of the divided tribes,” the statement said then.

The military’s media wing said at least 15-20 Afghan Taliban had been killed and many others injured, adding the situation was developing.

Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban agreed to a temporary 48-hour ceasefire on the request of the Afghan Taliban regime, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday.

“A temporary ceasefire has been decided between the Pakistani government and the Afghan Taliban regime, with the mutual consent of both parties, for the next 48 hours from 6pm today, at the request of the Taliban.

“During this period, both sides will make sincere efforts to find a positive solution to this complex but solvable issue through constructive dialogue,” the FO said.

I am surprised this is still going on and that is being escalated. This war does not benefit either side.

If it goes on and a full scale war erupts, both Pakistan and Afghanistan would face economic collapse, though in different ways. Pakistan, already burdened by massive debt and dependent on IMF loans, would see its military spending soar, reserves drain, and investor confidence evaporate, likely leading to default within months. Inflation would surge, the currency would crash, and austerity would follow. Afghanistan, with almost no financial reserves or institutional support, would suffer immediate devastation, trade would halt, imports would dry up, and millions would face unemployment and hunger. Pakistan would be crippled by debt; Afghanistan by destitution. Both nations would emerge weaker, poorer, and far less stable than before.

I am not sure if both Pakistani and Afghan brothers realize this, but cheering this on is actually idiotic, this if it continues, would cripple both nations, especially Afghanistan.

It is a good post... so let me start with parroting the usual... read Chanakya!

Pakistan is sandwiched between two hostile states... it is the true regional nucleus... point of confluence... having both the majority Afghans but also by far the majority of Punjabis... who's periphery stretches into either states. Kabul and Delhi lie on the same belt... Islamabad/Lahore/Peshawar does!
So, having Pakistan and Afghanistan duke it out only benefits India... So Afghanistan has only one choice and one choice only... stand with Pakistan!
It is either that or a two front down the road... which isn't too far by any stretch.

"Only the paranoid survive"!

Bro there is no way that can happen. Pakistan will lose thousands of men for no reason and permanently weaken the forces against India which is incredibly dangerous. With Afghanistan it's important to leverage those there is approach with i.e. the other ethnic groups and utilize it in a positive way.
