What we also need is large number of ground based radars , India has huge network of Ground based radars mainly due to its large airspace but also due to increase the efficiency of coverage , We have the good thing of having more AWACS then IAF so thats a good thing i guess

Ground based radar no replacement for good AWACS

Fixed ground based radars are very vulnerable in day #1 strikes, just look at what Iran did to all manner of US radars in the middle east.

The target is deployable radars used in systems like the HQ9 and awacs that can be continuously re-deployed.

The thing is to have awazs and ground based radars side by side , by you logic awacs also can be targeted in the air as well as ground no?

We already have this and perhaps even better. PAF was a pioneer in this space i.e integrating multiple ground based radars to provide a singular comprehensive air picture.

Ill be sad when the mirages finally go. Our fleet is the most mordernised 2nd gen force in the world and have been flying nonstop since late 60s. Mirages deserve a whole museum just for themselves for their invaluable service
its such a shame we never kept a heritage fleet. Most are just sold off to scrap metal traders.

Well iirc the ROSE II and III fleet were originally the first production mirage 5s originally meant for isreal and later served with france and also the oldest continuously flying mirages. Its sad we couldn’t save most of the Pakistani order fleet but we have still have an incredible part of history left to save

Dude, the stuff I would do to see F-104s and Sabres flying above parades or above Quaid's Mausoleum

It's an expensive luxury but if we can keep 50 year old Mirages flying I don't see why we couldn't have a flyable heritage fleet, heck there's flyable Sabres owned by private individuals in the US. I've always loved seeing the RAF's heritage fleet, especially the Vulcan bomber...nothing describes seeing that thing fly in person.
