Pakistan Air Force | News & Discussions

If my memory serves me right, it was Pindi boi Sheikh Raheed who break the J-10CE news first.

Ah yes, I remember, was a slip of the tongue by him! Well remembered.

Gotta love 'Pind Boys, anything for attention....

I think at that time it was pretty much a done deal, if Establishment don't want him to release that info he would not have done that, as for J-35's they will come and most realistic approach what i think is that PAF already knows they can take care of IAF with additional J-10CE, which are coming as confirmed by PAF not long ago. As for IAF getting Su57's if IAF put a order lets say in a year or so, PAF will get J-35's as a counter to them. But I believe Pakistan have to come out of that reactive mindset, Pakistan is trying to become a net security provider in ME, we can't do that with just JF-17's, F-16's and 20 odd J-10CE's, we need high numbers of fighter jets, AD systems but again it all comes down to our poor economy which is mostly due to 2 of our states are seeing a hi-low intensity insurgency, we need to end that and bring some sort of normalcy into Baluchistan/KPK because right now we are not even working to 25% of our potential.

100% agree on this post. Now we have Makkah agreement a strategic deterence against Israel will soon be a PAF operational requirement, and maybe indeed a PN operational requirement

The way things are rapidly changing in middle east, I won't be surprised if at some point Israel air force will come face to face with PAF. And I don't want PAF to be just relying on JF17's when IAF is flying F-35's.

Yeah, and who even knows what happens that we never read about? Like when we had J-10Cs flying over Iran escorting their leadership, would be very surprised if PAF AESA radars did not detect interesting things during the time....

That's a very interesting thought, but i bet Israeli Air force must be monitoring the movement of PAF and Iranian delegation, and there might be some weird stuff going on in the air over Iran. Its a bit off topic but after seeing how some Iranian members were insulting Pakistan despite that their entire current leadership owe their lives to Pakistan and PAF, if not for Pakistan their entire negotiating team would've been killed in air before they landed back in Tehran, it really disappoint me.

Cringe overload🙈.Our AC is quite the opposite of humble which is unfortunate BUT it was under his leadership that PAF overwhelmed and humiliated the IAF against massive odds. In my experience even in a workplace, the efforts of good workers amount to nothing if poor leadership sets the wrong direction. He deserves due credit and a bit of slack for that. Note that next door they have a total joke of an AC who failed miserably, lies shamelessly and yet I don’t see them give him even a small fraction of the criticism we give Sidhu.

I have to completely disagree with you. PAF's training, whole structure is built over several decades. It outperformed India in every era. It did 50-60 years ago, it did in 2019 and it repeated in 2025. PAF would have outperformed IAF with or without him. He is overloaded personality cult. This is not good for the institution. Its extremely immature & pathetic that cameras are rolling like a film shooting and every few weeks his posters & videos are being produced. Its literally is embarrassment. The institutions are led by example. Its end of professionalism when you see such activities. Imagine film crew and cameras moving along the tarmac when Sidhu sahab is giving posses surrounded by body guards every other day. That too on tax payer's money. Not from his own pocket. Doing that for years now.

Not to mention, PAF had a pride that their chiefs avoided extensions or were clear of controversies. Sidhu was appointed in 2021, moving forward with series of extensions & era of total political suppression he is being continuously given extensions. I don't see him getting retired at all. So Pakistan airforce as an institution do not have any competent officer that can lead? Its a BLUNDER of epic proportions for what we are witnessing happening to a professional force. You are sidelining an entire generation of officer and sacrificing them for one's personality cult. Its a worst example you are setting for the institution.

Institutions like airforce should have cleared from politics. Ideally we could have wished same for army but that's hoping for too much. Airforce was clean from politics. But this AC's continuation is largely because of politics. His brother (on Pml-n ticket) was defeated by 86 times more votes by PTI candidate but ofcourse he was declared victor by ripping apart nation's mandate. The extensions are directly political. Also do you think such insecure mindsets who can go at any lengths for their power and continuity will be promoting senior officers on merit OR TC ? Its really bad culture. Nation looking at all this and staying quiet means we are contributing in setting bad trends. No chief should serve more than 2 years. Institution must be independent of individuals. Regular rotation is essential for health of institution.

I think @Oscar can shed more light of this current trend of personality cult and continued service is doing with our forces.

Regarding that video, this is end of professionalism. What sidhu sahab directed / approved / star cast as main hero. drooling in cult personality & ultimate narcissistic character produced was one of the worst - Something that I wish I can unsee. Really looks like a class project of a school children to come up with AI video showing war scenes. Maybe 5th class students can give more mature prompts to AI. btw Why on earth you need AI cheapness / fake clips at all ?

, Sidhu sb has a whole wall dedicated to himself. Half of the program the CO was praising the chief.
That's exactly the culture that is being cultivated now. TCing / self loathing. Only criteria of promotion. Unbelievable we'd see such downfall of an institution.

Also people who talk about 2025 and try to find excuse for him doing that. It was pilots trainings built over decades. You had longer sticks. Who knows with any other leadership, we'd have gotten 20+ of their jets? We knew india was planning to do attack and they were openly saying so. Also, we know unforunately our pilots were restrained to not fire until enemy fired their missiles into our territory. Remember, it was india attacking Pakistan, firing missiles at our cities and mercilessly killing our innocent civilians. Its basic SOP of airforce to engage enemy who is attacking your country. Otherwise what is the whole purpose of having an airforce? It was our airforce following basic SOP at runtime. I 'd have given sidhu any credit, had he'd have planned deep strikes into indian bases after 10th may attacks. Because then leadership role was required. As pilots do not have authority to launch offensive missions deep inside enemy territory on their own but pilots have all the authority to kill an enemy attacking your country.

Interesting fact, No15 Sqd had the first and last ever recorded kills in the PAF.
