Is C8 similar in range to D1?? How C8 compares to meteor?
the C8 and D3 both have a 160km+ range. They're the same missile the difference is US only software on the D. Both even received the same refresh and upgrade package.

It was the US' answer to the meteor and PL-15 (domestic chinese version).

Range is less important, it is a missile that is far more lethal than its 120C5 brother.

all paf f16s except 15ADF's are block 52
are you sure about that? you mean all MLU are at block 52 level? also will MLu or block 52 radar can utilized these missiles to the fullest range? are there radars capable?

Item 3: F-16A/B Mid-Life Update Modification Kits - $1.3 billion

The Government of Pakistan has requested a possible sale of 60 F-16A/B Mid-Life Update (MLU) modification and Falcon Star Structural Service Life Enhancement kits consisting of:

  • APG-68(V)9 with Synthetic Aperture Radar or the APG-66(V)2 radar;
  • Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems (JHMCS);
  • AN/APX-113 Advanced Identification Friend or Foe Systems;
  • AN/ALE-47 Advanced Countermeasures Dispenser Systems;
  • Have Quick I/II Radios;
  • Link-16 Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Low Volume Terminals (MIDS-LVT);
  • SNIPER (formerly known as AN/AAQ-33 PANTERA) targeting pod capability;
  • Reconnaissance pod capability;
  • Advanced Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation Units (for training);

MDE included in the MLU modification and structural upgrade kits;
  • 21 ALQ-131 Block II Electronic Countermeasures Pods without the Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM); or ALQ-184 Electronic Countermeasures Pods without DRFM;
  • 60 ALQ-213 Electronic Warfare Management Systems;
  • 1 Unit Level Trainer;
  • 10 APG-68(V)9 spare radar sets.
Yes, all the MLU are block 52 level. The Turks also use 120C8s on their Block 52's but im CERTAIN we will recieve the SABR upgrade.

asking from grok with feature using search all over from internet about "Utilization of AIM-120C-8 Maximum Range by MLU and block 52 radars i.e. AN/APG-66(V)2A and AN/APG-68(V)9, i got the following response

No, neither variant can fully utilize the AIM-120C-8's maximum range due to radar limitations. The radars' detection/illumination ranges (74 km for MLU, 104 km for Block 52+) are well below the missile's potential, limiting launches to shorter distances where the target can be reliably tracked and illuminated (typically 50-80 km for MLU and 70-100 km for Block 52+).

How much would similar V upgrade package cost now?

How much would similar V upgrade package cost now?
probaby 3x as much.

but remember, its not a small upgrade, the APG83 has 75% hardware commonality with the F35, and 90% software commonality.

Its a significant leap in capability, the closest to a 5th gen you can get from an upgrade to a legacy platform.
