Pakistan Closes Airspace to Taiwanese Airlines in Support of China

I agree with most of your views, and let me offer a few brief clarifications...▼▼▼

Given the historical grievances between the KMT and the CCP, I can understand why friends in Mainland China hold a negative view of the KMT.

However, the vast majority of what Taiwan has achieved today was built on the foundation laid during the KMT’s rule.

This includes major infrastructure projects that helped Taiwan’s economy take off, the semiconductor industry that developed later, and the National Health Insurance system, among other things.

I do not expect friends in Mainland China to reverse their negative impression of the KMT, but when comparing the KMT and the DPP, the KMT’s achievements in governance are far superior to those of the DPP.

Today, the KMT is actually facing a dilemma in many ways. If the KMT wants to unseat the DPP, it must win more votes, which requires the support of centrist voters.

Therefore, the KMT cannot appear too pro-China, as that would drive away centrist voters. As a result, the KMT often finds its hands tied and is unable to take a clear stance on many issues.

Anyway, the outcome of the CCP-KMT rivalry is already clear. I just hope that, as time goes by, the two sides across the Taiwan Strait can achieve peaceful reunification...👍
Why China and Taiwan haven't talked about entering into a "One country, two system" thing similar to Hong Kong where Taiwan remains an autonomous democratic state of unified Chinese nation?

Yeah, until Taiwan get rid of US control from politics to media and to military and also heavy Japanese influence. Chinas goal is to kick out US out of Taiwan affairs, but takes time.

Eventually Taiwan will join China like HK and Macau peacefully

Japan is collapsing for 30years and US debt, economy and white decline is barely manageable.

China will probably reclaim Taiwan by 2049 when one superpower has fallen and another has risen

Another example of egg -headed policy from the duffer regime. They have already pissed off Japan, which had never been adversarial to Pakistan, enough that they endorsed India's position on terrorism originating from Pakistan in their joint statement. Now they are needling Taiwan for no good reason. The relationship with three bordering countries is already terrible.

I am guessing the initial decision was because of danda from China and then danda from Amreeka forced a humiliating U-turn.

So much of what you wrote is BS and what you think may have happened behind the scenes, but anything to shit on Pakistan right?
Yeah, right now US diplomatic priority with Pakistan is not Iran but Taiwan overflights, they will expend diplomatic capital on that.

"Humiliation for Pakistan saaaaaar!"

So, it seems it was about sucking up to the Chinese and then sucking up to Trump , after all. Not surprisingly at all, since GHQ has been carrying water for foreign powers for decades.

Mainland China has indeed proposed a "One Country, Two Systems" framework for Taiwan, and it has done so more than once.

However, neither the Kuomintang (KMT), which supports eventual unification across the Taiwan Strait, nor the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), which advocates Taiwan independence, accepts Beijing's proposed "One Country, Two Systems" arrangement.

This is because accepting "One Country, Two Systems" would mean changing the current sovereign status of the Republic of China (ROC).

Taiwan already has its own government, military, elections, and democratic system. There is no need to accept "One Country, Two Systems."

-----------------

Roughly speaking, the view on the Taiwan side is that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait would be better off going their separate ways. If unification is ever to happen, it must be under the political system of the ROC. Otherwise, forget it...... 😩

This is the main reason why the two sides of the Taiwan Strait remain deadlocked.

Because we can now earn a $1.3 trillion surplus every year. We are in no hurry.

Pakistan closes :

Border with Afghanistan
Border with Iran
Airspace with India
Border with India
Airspace with Taiwan

I heard about a girl whose 100 ex-boyfriends were all abusers.
It one bad decision after the other by Pakistan.
