The PTI has secured the required majority in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to form its government for the third consecutive time in the province with the party’s provincial president, Ali Amin Gandapur, likely to be the chief minister -- the third from Dera Ismail Khan.

The PTI-affiliated independent candidates clinched National Assembly and provincial legislature seats in several districts of K-P in the general elections held a day earlier.

They have managed to win all the seats in Chitral, Abbottabad, Swat, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Mohmand, Khyber, Mardan, and Bannu.

According to the results released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the PTI-nominated candidates have secured all the seats from PK-1 Chitral to PK-15 Lower Dir.

In the 145-member K-P Assembly, 73 seats are required to form the government while the PTI-backed candidates have already bagged 76 slots in the provincial legislature, according to the results issued by the ECP.

This means that the PTI has obtained a simple majority and come into a position to form a government on its own in the province, not requiring the seats of other parties.

The PTI formed its government in K-P for the first time in 2013 with Pervez Khattak as the chief minister.

The second time the party formed its government in K-P was in 2018 with Mahmood Khan as the provincial chief executive.

This is the third time that the PTI will form its government in the province, completing a hat-trick.

The PTI’s K-P president, Ali Amin Gandapur, is likely to become the chief minister of the province.

Before him, Mufti Mehmood and Sardar Inayatullah Khan Gandapur -- both from Dera Ismail Khan -- have served as the chief executive of the province.

Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur was a provincial minister in the first term of the PTI in K-P. He went on to become a federal minister during its tenure in the Centre.

However, as the PTI-nominated candidates contested the polls independently, the party will not receive any reserved seats for women and minorities.

Despite forming the government, Article 63A of the Constitution that deals with disqualification on grounds of defection will not apply to its members – meaning they can leave the party any time they want.

Apart from this, they will also not be sanctioned for violating the party.
So KPK is free from Army manipulation ?

Who won? Or should I say, has been selected?

COAS congratulates the entire Pakistani Nation, Caretaker Government, Election Commission of Pakistan, Political Parties and all winning candidates on successful conduct of General Elections 2024.

Rawalpindi - February 10, 2024

No PR-36/2024-ISPR

COAS congratulates the entire Pakistani Nation, Caretaker Government, Election Commission of Pakistan, Political Parties and all winning candidates on successful conduct of General Elections 2024. Free and unhindered participation by Pakistani people to exercise their right of vote demonstrated their commitment to democracy and the rule of law as enshrined in Constitution of Pakistan. Leadership and personnel of law-enforcement agencies deserve our highest appreciation for creating a safe and secure environment for the electoral process, despite overwhelming odds. The constructive role played by national media, civil society, members of civil administration and judiciary enabled the successful conduct of the largest electoral exercise in national history.

Pakistan’s diverse polity and pluralism will be well-represented by a unified government of all democratic forces imbibed with national purpose. Elections and democracy are means to serve people of Pakistan and not ends in themselves. The nation needs stable hands and a healing touch to move on from the politics of anarchy and polarisation which does not suit a progressive country of 250 Million people. Elections are not a zero-sum competition of winning and losing but an exercise to determine the mandate of the people. Political leadership and their workers should rise above self-interests and synergise efforts in governing and serving the people which is perhaps the only way to make democracy functional and purposeful.

As the people of Pakistan have reposed their combined trust in the Constitution of Pakistan, it is now incumbent upon all political parties to reciprocate the same with political maturity and unity. As we move forward from this national milestone we must reflect on where the country stands today and where our rightful place should be in the comity of nations. COAS wishes that these elections bring in political and economic stability and prove to be the harbinger of peace and prosperity for our beloved Pakistan.

Big difference
IK won from every province of Pakistan and can potentially form governments in 2 provinces and 2 territories, IK is loved by Pakistanis across ethnic, socio-economic, sect lines, a patriot through and through
Mujeeb won in Bengal only by stroking ethnic identity trying to rule over a diverse country 1000s mile away where he barely won a seat or 2 through sheer population advantage over another extremely popular opponent ZAB who had presence everywhere like IK barring Bengal
Different scenarios except for of course mandate issues (unfortunately like a chunk of our elections (and after election aka 1999 coup after PMLN 2/3rd majority, Benazirs assembly dissolution) over our 70 year history)
The last point made is telling

Looks like PTI lobby is working.
Just lip service which they have to do when a elections get an upgrade from irregularities to just a plain joke

If they don't do lip service then they have to accept the elections in Russia, china and North Korea too (yes elections happen regularly there too)

So KPK is free from Army manipulation ?
No .they are much more violent

Few places where it happens there were riots and police did a disappearing act forcing the army to do direct fire killing people (like in shangala)

Army throught it's not worth it then and focused on punjab where punjab police is still very loyal to Nawaz sharif like in sindh ..

Looks like PTI lobby is working.

Ask faujeets to activate their haqani network to counter - It will not be first time, they are world record holders of conspiring against public mandate. , Although most of these statements are just lip service but enough to destroy any moral authority of government formed by duffers and their lapdogs.

It is reported that yesterday in Dera Ghazi Khan, the DPO was tortured for not assisting in changing the result and the family is also being threatened.

Zartaj Gul was given the result yesterday afternoon while Maher Sajjad Chheena was defeated again at night. The torturers are also seen in the picture.
