There would be no gain, because there is no appetite to gain. First of all the enemy losing nearly half of their top fighter jets would have given us a huge advantage on the battlefield. It's not like the French were going to fly over replacements overnight.

Secondly, they only shot down the drones because the enemy was emboldened enough to fire drones. If we'd had taken out all the targets we'd locked onto and responded with missile strikes against enemy airbases and air defences as defensive measures - they'd have to think twice about taking further steps.
