Realistically: It's not just 10 years but more like 79 years. Every government and political party in power in India since 1947 has game planned a military action against Pakistan and Bangladesh. The sole objective has been to annex Pakistan and Bangladesh. To reconstitute India as it was defined before 1947 is a long term strategic ideologically driven strategy of every government in power in India. The ideological vision of the ruling political establishments have varied over the years but the objective remains the same.
Let's examine WHY India wants the annexation of Pakistan:
@SoulSpokesman @MasterChief @Yasser76
- The centrist leftist secular establishment ( essentially the Congress backed by the Communist Party of India and other left wing parties ) that ruled India for decades viewed (and still views) Pakistan and Bangladesh as artificial colonial creations, and illegal entities that seceded as part of a foreign conspiracy . For the Congress and left wing parties ( whatever is left of them) view the existence of Pakistan and Bangladesh as a serious challenge to India's long term internal stability where the right-wing fundamentalists use the creation of Pakistan & Bangladesh to undermine India's "secular character " and ferment violence, and establish a fascist regime ( which happened anyhow)the . Annexation of Pakistan & Bangladesh will remove this factor, and the addition of 400 million Muslims which would be a majority in key provinces would ensure a secular national government forever. Additionally the territories annexed would restore India's traditional access to both Central Asia & South East Asia and make India the dominant power in both the Middle East and Far East . The Congress regime made a attempt to annex Pakistan during Operation Brass Tacks in 1987. This was the largest mobilization the Indian Armed Forces have ever done, exceeding all other mobilizations including the two wars of 1965 and 1971.
- The right wing fundamentalist RSS-VHP Hindutva regime that has ruled India in two phases, and has currently been in power for over a decade has an entirely different reason for the annexation of Pakistan and Bangladesh . Like it's left wing counterpart it wants a "united India" or Akhand Bharat based not only on the borders as it was prior to 1947 but territories beyond including Afghanistan,Iran & Myanmar .The RSS-VHP wants the territory of Pakistan but not the people basically Muslims. The RSS-VHP envision stability not through democracy and secularism but by the establishment of a Hindu theocracy and the complete elimination of Muslims both within India's current borders and in the territories India will conquer. Short term the existence of Pakistan serves the political interests of the Hindutva regime to persecute Muslims questioning their right to live in India and win elections against the left-wing centrist secular alliance. The tensions with Pakistan have been a great asset to the rise of Hindutva ideology in India. Like the Congress regime the RSS-VHP has long awaited and planned a massive war against Pakistan. The Hindutva ideologues have also planned the largest holocaust in human history to eliminate 600 million Muslims from the subcontinent using nuclear, chemical & biological weapons and concentration camps, dwarfing the Mongol effort.
So there we have it. Whether it is Congress or BJP Pakistan and Bangladesh are doomed to an eternal existential war. The options are nuclear martyrdom or slavery and slow extermination. There is a chance ( small one) that India will get into a war with China and the resulting defeat will cause India to break up. However Indians are too afraid of China to fight it.
At this point this expectation is unrealistic. The media hype created makes war inevitable.
