U.S. wants Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt to act as mediators in this conflict, but Iran has shown no interest in accepting such mediation. Pakistan shares a border with Iran and is located close to the Strait of Hormuz, its relevance to U.S. in this conflict is quite obvious.
