The conventional war was initiated by India with the capture of Haji Pir and attacks on Lahore and Sialkot.

If a covert operation in disputed territory pre-Shimla is an act of war, then what proxy war India has done in mainland Pakistan already justifies war against India.

Not just MB they sent brigades supported by armor into east Pakistan on November 21.

The PAF retaliation on Dec. 3 was made into their equivalent of Oct 7., a convenient place to declare the start of all history to be.

with the atrocious performance of IAF, I would not place too much confidence in such an offensive succeeding.

AJK, with six infantry brigades and 4 million extremely hostile people, will become their Vietnam. The collapse of the LoC would allow unprecedented infiltration into IOK and India.

Then again, Modi has replaced senior Indian mil officers with his yes-men, and Indian academia and media is currently an echo chamber of rabid nationalism. There is a risk of India proceeding with such an attack regardless.

if we’re being pessimistic we can entertain the assumption that they’ll nab the thar desert belt, Haji Pir, and get close to muzaffarabad.

Whether that, in combination with IWT suspension, crosses a nuclear red line, is unknown.

If we’re being optimistic and PAF gains air superiority…. Well Indian army will be sitting ducks like Saddam’s Iraqi Army. Khawaja Asif really surely needs to be controlled, he is busy throwing Pakistan under the bus each time. But sacking him at this point will send the wrong message. Better to ban him from talking and assign someone like Moeed Yousuf to talk as his representative, at least.

Khawaja Asif is just permanently high on something very expensive.
