Agreed, Attack formation is always inherently weak at defenses. The air-air weapons are replaced by air-ground weapons. At this point the 5 jets kill is getting a confirmation and its a legendary performance. It might be simpler to take the win and the assbeating of IAF and avoid sending our planes into a dangerous scenario.

Instead, a salvo of Short Range missiles at Pathankot should do the job very well. No way India can defend attacks at such a short range. even PAF Jets might be able to do easily it from within Pak Territory without getting into Indian Air Defenses.

One thing to consider is that the PAF overall has been operating the J10CE for far less time than the Indians have been. That PAF has mastered the aircraft so quickly and is getting the best out of what the platform offers, is a significant reflection on the professionalism and capability of the PAF..

That might be because PAF has close relations with the PLAAF, thus can get a lot of insight into the J-10C.

Can't say the same between India and France, where France give India diplomatic support for buying French products, but tends to still keep India at arm's length when it comes to defense cooperation.

Indeed, it seems we went from British tactics and equipment,, to US tactics and equipment to a very unique Pakistani (albeit heavily Chinese influenced) version of air warfare. I really expect PAF will see many air forces now want to study our set up, equipment, training and tactics
