We diplomatically absolutely lost kargil though. Joint Services improved alot since then in 1999 musharraf kept air force and navy on the dark about that offensive

I am confident, given a choice, India would rather take the sparsely populated Gilgit Baltistan over the Pakistani part of Kashmir (Azaad Kashmir): Taking G-B cuts off Pakistan from China and provides India access to Central Asia, while A-K is a narrow land with relatively larger and hostile population against India.

The people of Gilgit hate india. India would absolutely not be able to hold GB i think. Even people of GB wanna be a province in Pakistan. In 1947 aswell they declared allegience with Pakistan

None of them apply to Kashmir because of massive entrenchment and presence of Army / LEA in Kashmir. Not to mention locals are really pissed this time around with Pakistan.

Lastly, what you are describing is what happened during 90s. And it failed to achieve any of the goals you wanted.

Not to mention, @Mangeela was talking about military takeover of Kashmir by Militia, which is a very different case.

Poonch was an Irresponsible act by our Army, We shouldve been more careful in that sector. What a tragedy man

Fatman they are calling us on national T.V Na-Pak or what not and this is Pakistani forum and we are at war so be humble or gentle sorry we will show that heart to them.

One of the participant, a retired soldier is a security guard at our office.
He got a bullet in his chest, roughly a single inch from his heart.
He while talking about this war told me that we had taken control of the main pipeline conveying water to the indian soldiers in the frozen land.
They could have collapsed in just a few days even if we don't fire a single bullet on them.
But then our govt ordered us to retreat.
Pak Army often don't cares about civilian govt orders regarding military operations if they are placed behind the scenes. But if the govt announced these orders publicly, army is bothered to accept them to showcase civilian supremacy rule.
When Pakistan occupied important mountain peaks, Indian soldiers were playing like sitting ducks.
And when Pak army took control of the pipeline, within 1.5 hours govt of Pakistan ordered to retreat at once.
While Pakistan army was on retreat, Indian army reaching peaks started firing and artillery strikes on Pakistani soldiers, causing great chaos.
Our soldiers even can't get a chance due to their position in the deeps and we lost a few hundred soldiers thus, and many including this security guard were injured.
Doctors didn't let this soldier drink water for 14 days at least.
