Dar underscores need for uninterrupted energy supplies, safe passage of ships in call with Iranian FM​

Both ministers agree to maintain close cooperation, to meet in New York on sidelines of 81st UN General Assembly

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar on Saturday underscored the need for uninterrupted energy supplies and the safe passage of ships during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the two foreign ministers discussed the latest regional developments.

"FM Dar stressed the importance of uninterrupted energy supplies and the safe and expeditious passage of ships, particularly given their implications for developing countries and global supply chains," it said.

According to MoFA, he also underscored that “dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means” to ensure peace and stability in the region.
