ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Jordan on Saturday discussed further deepening bilateral relations as well as exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation in the economic, trade, investment, health, science and technology, education, as well as defence sectors.

The issues were discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the visiting dignitary King Abdullah II at the PM House.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing strategic and economic ties between Pakistan and Jordan, as well as expanding mutually beneficial collaboration at regional and international fora.

The prime minister welcomed King Abdullah II's visit to Pakistan, highlighting it as a testament to the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Jordan.

The king praised Pakistan's consistent support for Jordan's role in regional stability and humanitarian efforts during the Gaza conflict, as well as post-war Gaza.

The meeting also featured a comprehensive exchange of views on regional security, peace initiatives.

On the issue of Palestine, both leaders acknowledged the unanimity of views and principled positions taken by Pakistan and Jordan regarding the post-war Gaza; zero-tolerance for any displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.

The two leaders agreed to enhance coordination among the eight Arab Islamic countries that are working with the US on the Gaza ceasefire and the Gaza Peace Plan signed in Sharm El-Sheikh.

It was the first official visit by a Jordanian monarch in 21 years.

As the king's aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, a formation of Pakistan Air Force JF-17 Thunder aircraft provided a protective escort and accompanied the royal flight to Islamabad.

President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received the King at Nur Khan Airbase. First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, members of the federal cabinet and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari were also present on the occasion.

Expressing his views on the occasion, President Zardari said that King Abdullah II's visit would give Pakistan-Jordan relations a new strategic dimension. He added that the ties between the two countries are built on historical brotherhood, mutual trust and shared values.

The king later arrived at the Prime Minister's House, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received King of Jordan Abdullah II during a dignified reception held at the Prime Minister House.

A smartly turned out contingent of the armed forces presented a guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

The king inspected the guard of honour. National anthems of the two countries were also played on the occasion.

It's amazing to watch political aurora borealis over Pakistani sky after may skirmish with India....

Increasingly likely we will join Gaza force

What will Pakistan do when Israel starts bombing and killing Pakistani soldiers? We have seen how many UN troops it kills, and how it shoots at UN troops in both Syria and Lebanon.

Seems to be a very poorly thought out move that does not consider all the things that can, and will go wrong with it.

It does feel like Munir's ego is flushing down the toilet decades of thoughtful principled stand on this front.

I don't think Pak will. This will be beyond the pale for even the Pakistani populace to tolerate.

Doubt it. Zia ul Haq killed Palestinians for sake of Jordan king back in 1970. When he overthrew and hanged an elected PM in late 1970s, West was fine with it. Zia then fought a war for the sake of dollars and riyals in Afghanistan throughout 1980s. Munir seems to me on same path.

@Watandar

In 1970, the people of Pakistan were not as politically conscious as they are today. Thanks to education. mdeia and social media.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday arrived in Bahrain’s capital Manama for a two-day visit.

According to Pakistan Television (PTV), the premier received a warm welcome at the Manama airport by Bahrain’s Crown Prince and PM Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy PM Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and senior members of the Bahraini leadership.

Last month, the two countries agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different fields during the first meeting of the Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group.

They also agreed to establish a joint working group to enhance collaboration in areas such as counter-narcotics, counterterrorism, coastguard operations, border security, immigration and police training and decided to sign memoranda of understanding on extradition, mutual legal assistance and specialised battalion training.

In September, the countries had also agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of counter-terrorism, anti-narcotics, and immigration during a meeting between Interior Minister Naqvi and his Bahraini counterpart, Gen Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

And No - he is NOT in Pakistan to talk about JF17C's - lets nip that in the bud now !

pakistan does nothing when it happens, bcaz they're cucks of america in all this and will obey like a fucking slave and not even protest their dead cannon-fodder soldiers..... nobody will care other then the dead;s families in Pak.....

its infuriating as to how big of a duffer all our so-called military leadership really looks like when they make absolutely stupid and shit decisions like this, going against the will of palestinians and siding with the Zionists/americans......

with full-fledged war cming soon with india (it will be IMPOSED whether or not these stupid fools want it) and the so-called restraint will end up being very very costly for Pakistan as well, bcaz we are looking at brahmos coming in to our major cities.......

its almost like our forces are slaves to usa/israel......ready to show restraints and stand down for pennies. It remains a big fucking concern of mine as to how we will suffer when the indians laucnh full invasion attack, for which they are amassing massive firepower from the west and russia

All that wealth, that man power that military equipment and now all of a sudden "we need pakistan in gaza"...only a fool will go ahead with agreeing with this. If those arabs with all their goodies and all their amazing relationships with the west dont want to set foot in their, or be the leader, it must be for a damn good reason. Oh wait, there is, the country or should i say the leader of any nation that commits troops, they will go down in history as a coward since he will never be able to order an attack against the israelies. And even if he does his troops will be so outnumbered they will be disintegrated and nothing left to bury.

So lets stop thinking about the impossible and rather concentrate on where the hell this country is going to. Our gov needs to stop pretending to be some erdogan cause trust me there is know one in power right now in pakistan that will make the common people risk their lives for by standing infront of tanks and getting bombed by jets.(for the country, yes, not for any of the individuals).

So nip this subject in the bud, like someone said earlier with regards about the Egyptian being here for JF-17s. The arabs can surely commit enough resources man power and all.

They don't need us one bit. What they need is someone to take the blame when it goes south and we are walking straight into that trap!
To me, both Gaza and Afghanistan are traps being setup for Pakistan, and the current establishment is so ecstatic about being invited to a lunch in White House that they are oblivious!

It was absolutely the right decision to stay out of Yemen in 2015 and same with Gaza in 2025. Let the Saudis, Egyptians, Emiratis, Jordanians all these chums of Washington and Tel Aviv send forces to Gaza.
