Pakistan Navy | News & Discussions

Sorry, but much of naval top brass looks overwight, some of those buttons on the white service shirts were under more pressure then an IAF Rafale pilot...

WDYM? It's tough work sitting in VIP lounges in Naval Bases, why shouldn't such hardworking officers be allowed treat themselves in the cafeteria?

A high-level Pakistan Navy delegation headed by Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami, the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, visited Türkiye for Pakistan Navy-Turkish Navy Expert-Level Staff Talks. Co-chaired with Vice Admiral Yalcin Payal, Chief of Staff Turkish Naval Forces, the talks focused on evolving maritime security environment, enhancing naval cooperation, operational activities, training exchanges and collaboration in the field of defence production.

The VCNS also called on Admiral Ercument Tatlioglu, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces. During the call, discussions mainly focused on strengthening bilateral naval cooperation, increasing joint operational coordination and addressing emerging maritime challenges in the region. In addition, the VCNS met Mr Musa Heybet, Deputy Minister of National Defence and General Kemal Yeni, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Turkish Armed Forces. During the interactions, matters of mutual interest and avenues to enhance mutual cooperation were discussed.

The Staff Talks are a key component of regular high-level exchanges between the two Navies and reflect the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye. The visit is expected to further consolidate bilateral defence relations, promote maritime security and enhance regional stability through shared commitment and collaboration.

Like him or not, physically Munir is an excellent example for senior officers
What's Munira's diet and exercise routine ? He might be advised to show up at these Navy dos and show them how to lose weight.

You can make fun but a person with higher body fat (including beer bellies, subcutaneous fat, or general adiposity) tends to have lower overall body density

→ they float more easily

Very useful when you’re at sea.

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia pledge deeper defense ties during Saudi naval chief’s Islamabad visit

Chai, biscuit and then Group photo. This is the essence of sarkari mulazims in Govt of Pakistan. No work required.
I understand the cynicism but this is not the case across the board. This generalization does not apply to certain things. Safety boards are usually a serious affair across the three services. Otherwise, chai, pani is a cultural must-have. :giggle:

In our country the concept of staying fit after a certain age is not in vogue. This means that most senior officers pay little attention to physical fitness (a shame) and only engage in limited sports (squash, tennis, golf etc.). The physical standards are also relaxed in the 40s and 50s.
Staying fit requires personal commitment. Most of our people don't bother. That aside, there are exceptions. As an example, in the SSG, even the GoC is expected to be fit and able to go on exercises with the troops in the field. However, most other formations don't adhere to this. The current CoAS is in a good trim and in the past too, some senior officers (not all) have maintained good standards of physical fitness.

Current COAS looks very smart, in fact most of them have looked quite fit, but yes, does not seem to be the case with all 2-4 stars

He spends at least 3 hours a day at the gym. Extremely fit.

Pakistan Navy's time to get in shape has come up. It's about to go through an expansion and modernization plan like what the Army and PAF are going through.

Journey towards 50 combat ship is about to start. A full nave modernization plan is being created.

@Rationalist The above should answer your question about Gawader. Obviously you can get the idea :)
