*PAKISTAN NAVY RENDERS ASSISTANCE TO INDIAN AND INDONESIAN CREW OF STRANDED VESSEL IN ARABIAN SEA*
Demonstrating unwavering vigilance and commitment to international maritime obligations, Pakistan Navy promptly responded to a distress call from multi-purpose offshore vessel MV GAUTAM operating in the Arabian Sea. The vessel, carrying seven crew members including six Indian and one Indonesian nationals, suffered a critical technical failure while en route from Oman to India, leaving it stranded at sea.
Upon receiving distress alert, from Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai, Pakistan Navy in coordination with Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) immediately initiated a swift and coordinated response. Leveraging its robust maritime surveillance and response capability, Pakistan Navy ensured rapid deployment of PMSA Ship KASHMIR.
The ship rendered timely assistance to the distressed vessel, including provision of food, medical aid and other necessary supplies to the crew, alongwith technical assistance to restore essential systems.
This prompt response highlights Pakistan Navy’s steadfast commitment to ensuring safety of life at sea and upholding international humanitarian and maritime responsibilities, irrespective of nationality. The operation stands as a testament to Pakistan Navy’s role as a responsible and capable maritime force, always ready to respond to emergencies across regional waters.

The Command & Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy concluded at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. The conference was chaired by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf and attended by Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders.
During the conference, Chief of the Naval Staff emphasized on maintaining perpetual combat readiness against traditional & non-traditional challenges in the maritime domain. In the backdrop of ongoing situation in the Middle East, he noted emerging threats in the maritime domain including freedom of navigation, potential disruption to vital Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) and volatile maritime security situation across strategic choke-points. Admiral Naveed Ashraf stressed on acquiring niche and cutting-edge technologies as an absolute strategic necessity for Pakistan Navy.
The Naval Chief further underscored Pakistan Navy's pivotal role in ensuring peace, stability and regional maritime security. He highlighted that PN is providing assurance to maritime community through its presence in Gulf of Oman.
The forum also commemorated the first anniversary of MARKA-E-HAQ, paying tribute to the sacrifices made during the May 2025 conflict. The Naval Chief remarked the historic triumph as an enduring testament to national unity and unwavering resolve to defeat any external aggression with iron fist.
The forum undertook a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives and upcoming events. Discussions remained focused on aligning naval priorities with evolving regional maritime security imperatives to chart a clear course for Ops preparedness across multiple domains of naval warfare.

@Ak01 sorry for pinging you again but a while back iirc you mentioned that with so many different weapons the PN would likely have to run mixed loadouts of subsonics and ASBMs. With induction of full ranged hd-1 wont this be the perfect weapon to standardise the PN on? SSCMs are much harder to intercept than subsonics, can be used in basically the same missile by PAF creating commonilaty in maintenance and attack profiles. With full 5-600km range they are also basically not cutting any range either with comparion to harbah or taimoor. They are also lighter and less experimental than smash with PN already being accustomed to the capability with yj-12s. Imo this is the perfect weapon for PN. Maybe they can retain some ships with SMASH if they really want that capability (baburs) or have some with planned larger ammount and hopefully much longer ranges harabh (opvs maybe) but it would make sense to use this weapon for rest of fleet and from land installations replacing kinda old yj-83s

These were never properly designed in the first place anyway, they were just there to fill the numbers and their design flaws badly exposed along with type 82s during falklands war. I believe they had large use of Aluminium which didn't turn out to be a prudent move at the time.....
