Islamic prophet? Every messenger and prophet preached and invited to Islam during his time, one of the conditions to be a Muslim is to also believe in all divine books and all messengers and prophets before Hazrat Muhammad Peace be upon him.

Should an innocent be falsely blamed and lynched or hanged for something he/she never committed? Do the blasphemy laws in Pakistan guarantee that no innocent will be lynched and killed on false charges?

One can demand that all recognised prophets be included in that law but don't think people would accept that.

Make the investigation more open, with more checks and balances

Have a review board set up to review both arrests and investigations


Let's not move away from finding these people and prosecuting them

All of this already exists, if only the supposed champions of human rights care to actually study the law.

In my post in another thread yesterday, I responded to this sort of tactic: being born overseas or having children born overseas. You and others have dual citizenship or can acquire it, and can freely live in the Islamic utopia.

It's hypocritical to fight for values in a Western country in which you were given a right to live.

It's also hypocritical, living in the West and being a champion of Islamic values, when you know many have been wronged by this policy; many within the judicial system itself do not provide relief because of the illiterate mullah brigade, e.g., Salman Taseer, and then making a champion out of a murderer.

Punjab has a distinct problem with rude abusive behavior which is not that mainstream in other territories. Maybe it's the language or maybe its something else.

When Punjab assembly passed this extension to the law in PTI era, it was much celebrated by the people as true hallmark of democracy in Pakistan specially Punjab.

It's quite fashionable to pick on these particular laws because everyone wants to become Salman Taseer. They are disillusioned by life and want an easy way out of it.

It's a futile discussion because till date no one has ever been convicted under the blasphemy law. However I do admire the opponents of this law for making everyone believe that this law is some imposed law and does not reflect the will of the people. They have successfully mastered the art of it either advocating that this is either colonial law or dictators law or downright unislamic.

I will be engaging freely till I am thread banned like in that Mazari thread.
