Yes. Who's more important to China, Iran or Pakistan?
Both China and Russia gave up on Venezuela last year, and Russia also gave up on Syria not so long ago.
China is the largest exporter of goods on Earth. Who are their largest importers?
Pakistan, because they are attacking Saudi Arabia, and we have a defence pact that says attack on one is attack on both. We are under attack.
Why should we allow anyone to attack us like this?
No choice. War is being imposed on Saudi Arabia, and Iranians think this is a joke.
They can get the same oil from Russia. China's exports are more important than their oil imports from one country, that might not be exporting anything soon.
Pakistan is a nuclear power. Please don't expect Pakistan to take it lying down from a wannabe nuclear power run by some religious fanatics.
I cannot speak for the Chinese government, but I can represent the views of a considerable portion of educated Chinese citizens.
The Chinese government has better relations and more trust with Pakistan. Emotionally, Chinese people like Pakistan more. But in terms of geopolitics and national interests, Iran is more important.
The world has now essentially divided into two major camps: China and the United States. Iran is a complete opponent of the United States, while Pakistan is not. Before this war, because there were many pro-American factions in Iran, China was betrayed by Iran many times; as a result, China’s relations with Iran were even less favorable than with Saudi Arabia, and Chinese internet has always regarded Iran as a clown. But Khamenei was killed by the United States, and Iran’s pro-American factions were pushed aside. Iran has been very brave in confronting the United States in this war, and China is a nation that greatly admires heroes and sacrifice, so it has gained the support of the Chinese public.
China’s foreign policy is conservative and cautious, so China has no allies. To gain China’s full support, you need to prove your courage and ability. Russia has proven itself, Pakistan proved itself on May 7, and now Iran has proven itself. Therefore, unlike Venezuela and Syria, China will definitely help Iran. In addition, although Modi and Indian trolls are trying hard to portray India as China’s opponent, in reality China has never taken India seriously; India is not a major threat. So, geopolitically, compared to Pakistan containing India in South Asia, Iran containing the United States and Israel in the Middle East is far more important.
The root of this war lies in the invasion of Iran by the United States and Israel, and the bombing that killed Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei. The whole world is criticizing the U.S. and Israel, even America's traditional allies have not actually joined the war. Why should Pakistan join the United States and Israel against Iran? If Pakistan were invaded by India and the United States in the future, would it still receive support from the international community?
Regarding Saudi Arabia and Iran, Saudi Arabia faces two threats: Israel and Iran. By allowing the U.S. to station troops on its territory, Saudi Arabia is essentially yielding to Israel and relying on U.S. military protection to guard against an Iranian attack. However, this war shows that the U.S. cannot protect Saudi Arabia, and cannot even protect itself. In fact, it is the presence of U.S. troops that has brought disaster to Saudi Arabia. Why doesn't Saudi Arabia expel U.S. troops and rely on other means to protect itself? With China's mediation, Saudi Arabia and Iran have already peacefully coexisted. If they also rely on Pakistan's military and China's weapons support, Saudi Arabia can completely confront Israel.
Although Pakistan needs Saudi funding and oil, and has agreements with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan's real enemy is India. Currently, Pakistan faces a very dangerous two-front situation. Opening a third front would be sheer suicide. Saudi Arabia should understand the predicament Pakistan is in; if Saudi Arabia pressures Pakistan, then Saudi Arabia is not a reliable friend.
Starting wars in the Middle East and causing Muslims to kill each other is what Israel and the United States have been doing for decades. The biggest threat in the Middle East will always be Israel, and Israel can never coexist peacefully with Muslims. Today it is Iran, tomorrow it will be Turkey, the day after tomorrow it will be Saudi Arabia, and then Pakistan. This is very obvious. Therefore, Pakistan should remain neutral and persuade Saudi Arabia and Iran to stay calm, at least not to engage in war until Saudi territory is actually occupied. The world is entering chaos; staying calm and choosing the right side is actually very difficult.
