Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

Also some Chinese friends are pointing out that Saudi-Turkey don't get along really well, but a positive of this will be that Pakistan can play a role of bridging the gaps and help improving ties between both Turkey and Saudi because they both have good relations with Pakistan.

The Pak-Saudi defense pact is even stronger than NATO’s Article 5! Excerpt says “shall respond with all available military means”.

NATO article 5 is more opened and allows for non-military option and just tells NATO countries “such actions it deems necessary”

You're really too much of a fantasist. You're always making wild guesses and daydreams that have no practical significance. However, you're so active in PDF that I can't bear to criticize you.

1、Did you know that there is a fundamental conflict between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye? The conflict between them is far greater than the conflict between China and Türkiye.

2. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia: A military alliance? Who helps whom? Pakistan itself is in a precarious state. To whom can it provide military protection?

Guys. Take a break.
You are right on the first point, although with the chaning dynamics of the global world order, an alignment between Turkey and Saudi Arabia cannot simply be ruled out.

But on the second point, you could not be more wrong. There are millions in Pakistan who would gladly give their lives for the protection of the 'holy' land; it would be a piece of cake to raise a parallel 500k-1million strong military for deployment in Saudi within a few years.

A lot of the commentary on this thread is speculation, as we don't have any knowledge of the specifics...Nor are we privy to them.

Speculation is the life and soul of PDF surely!? :)

Couldn’t Asim Munir find someone taller as the PM? Shabaz’s small size is embarrassing. It makes it seem like Pakistan is little and Saudi Arabia is big.

love his shiny black shoes...

what did he use?.. Cherry blossom boot polish?

I was watching the videos on YouTube. The amount of respect given to Shahbaz Sharif is mind boggling and unprecedented. I felt like the Saudis are treating him like the US President.

Good for Pakistan.if Saudis are willing to cooperate with Pakistan, they should consider giving one or two Airbases to Pakistan Air force near the Israel border. It will always be a headache for Israel even if we never take any action against them… and if we do have to defend Saudi Arabia, having been located at such a geolocation will help Saudis defend their borders.

100% This. If Israel had access to Indian air bases in the past for a potential strike against Pakistan, they now know it works both ways. People on here think this is just about Pak helping Saudis against Isreal, we have been in Israels crosshairs (discreetly) for decades.

At 3:45 Hamid Mir claims Pakistan is about to sign a similar defence pact with two other countries. Pretty sure Turkiye would be one. Not sure who the second country could be?

NATO article 5 is more open ended and allows for non-military option says “such actions it [NATO country] deems necessary”

will that bring India and Isreal closer? somehow, Pak should normalise as much as possible with India instead of flexing this pact on Delhi's face. At the same time, Pak must keep Iran in an indirect loop and help it closer to China. We don't want any indirect Israel/US sympathisers or any anti-SA in our neighbourhood.

The next step is to get own house in order. Convince IEA to back off from TTP and BLA etc, as it is more important to safeguard SA from a possible Israeli onslaught. Acting against Pakistan is strengthening Israel, or so.

Some more random thoughts:

1. There is a three-pronged pincer movement to control the Middle East. Israel, American military bases, and massive numbers of Indians. Pakistan will be confronting all of them.

2. There will be a period of extreme danger before Pakistani forces are deployed. Israel is on the rampage now. It may speed up its activities before Pakistan is ready to do anything.

3. There’s probably going to be a protocol for controlling Pakistani troops deployed in Saudi Arabia, if there are any. Presumably, they will be under Saudi control. For example, if India and Israel launch a joint attack on Pakistan, will Pakistani forces in Saudi Arabia be allowed to retaliate against Israel?

4. What would be the threshold before ultimate weapons are used? Who decides that?

There are lots of questions at this point and few answers.
Sirji , don't unnecessarily stress your brain cells.....save them, they may come in handy at crunch time.

The primary goal of the Saudis is to supply their customers with oil. They derive all their wealth from that. India is 3rd largest customer of petroleum (at some point they move to 2nd). No amount of tactical dealings with Pakistan changes that.

Indians coming here to cope.....1,2,3.....
