China has long been a military partner of KSA. In the 1980s Saudi Arabia imported the DF-3A, a heavy MRBM, and in 2018 it acquired the DF-21. These procurements blatantly violated MTCR protocols, a serious offense. And what was Washington’s response? Absolutely nothing.
Both KSA and China hold tremendous economic leverage over the United States, leverage they can and do exert to secure their strategic interests.
