Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

During my Umrah visit some time back, I encountered Pakistanis working at all levels in Saudi Arabia, from labor to office work to high positions as well. The bulk of them are manual labor. The impression I got was that the Pakistanis were hard working and didnt cause trouble. I also saw few Pakistani beggars which was very disappointing.

If Saudis are going to hire more Pakistani labor to meet their shortages, I think that is a positive. Yes Saudi and GCC never give citizenship or rights to expat labor but Pakistanis dont have any choices. Not everyone can afford a visa to go to West.

Pakistani govt needs to improve the level of the people it sends abroad. Skilled labor like electrician or carpenter are what Saudi really needs for its construction projects, not just manual labor.

Few? Man, there were Pakistani beggars everywhere—also at many Islamic holy sites we visited. That sure was disappointing. 🙁
I encountered several nationalities who were begging, not just Pakistanis, and at just two places, outside Haramain Sharifain and at Arafat. I didnt see them anywhere else.

I think Pakistani govt should force all people leaving the country to do a basic course on manners and etiquette. Teaching them about deodrant will also help.

Another extreme Bughaz-e-Imrani spotted. PM Imran Khan actually spoke about the plight of Pakistani laborers in Saudi Arabia while the Saudi Crown Prince was on his official visit to Pakistan:

The entire world has been exposed in one man’s BUGHAZ. I am literally shocked!
Everybody talks because talk is cheap. Did anything change "materially" for your so called "national humiliation" that sends $8-12B to Pakistan each year?

I couldn't care less about IK or SS or any Tom, Dick or Harry. They are like a bunch of bananas. They all stick together in their games of thrones and every single one of them is crooked (albeit to various degrees).

Here, today, I state again. I have no issues with people's political persuasion. You like IK, great, good for you. However if your politics are at the expense of national interests and/or national pride, then I have to take exception with it.
IK supporters tend to do that a lot and in turn generate hate for the very man they are looking to defend and proclaim as their knight in shining armor.

Let me call the spade a spade. Using your own "sakheel Urdu", your posts unfortunately and those of like-minded like yourself are what one would call extreme "Bughz-e-Pakistani". Simply stated, you are fine destroying Pakistan's image because your man is not in charge. Everything else be damned.

Ponder over the fact that not everyone who is not pro-IK is anti-IK. My moral compass is Pakistan first, always. It is not IK, not SS, not NS, not AH, not BB first, ever!

You forgot to mention the Generals and the ISI Maalkhors. No politician can get to
their level.

You got lucky. We encountered Pakistani beggars outside Kaaba mosque, Ghar-e-Saur, Ghar-e-Hira, and even the fully-employed Pakistani sweepers at the hotels we stayed were begging us to give them some money. 🙁

Imran Khan "destroying" Pakistan’s image while being in charge of something Pakistani:

The cleaning / maintenance staff you find at all these places are very poorly paid and actually they were seeking a tip. It helps their wages. You know it when they say Salam after doing some cleaning.

Beggars are different. They come up to you and have sob story and want you to hand over money.

Anyways yeah Pakistani beggars are a problem that needs to be solved quickly and permanently in GCC.

Comprehend the post first. "IK supporters tend to do that a lot and in turn generate hate for the very man they are looking to defend and proclaim as their knight in shining armor."

IK gets full points for leading Pakistan to the WC. Bhutto was just as forceful at the UN as IK was. Zia-ul-Haq no different.

The ones destroying Pakistan's image are IK's supporters. Not even IK is doing that himself.

Saudization rates will increase across four key private-sector healthcare professions, taking effect in 2025:

  • Medical laboratories: 70 percent (up from 60 percent)
  • Physiotherapy: 80 percent (up from 60 percent)
  • Radiology: 65 percent (up from 60 percent)
  • Therapeutic nutrition: 80 percent (up from 60 percent)

Accounting professions

A structured five-phase Saudization plan for accounting professions will commence on October 27, 2025. The policy will initially require a 40 percent Saudization rate, progressively increasing to 70 percent over a five-year period. Businesses with five or more accountants must ensure compliance with these changes.

Engineering professions

From July 27, 2025, private-sector establishments with five or more engineers must have at least 30 percent of their workforce comprised of Saudi nationals in engineering technical roles.

It's very hard to imagine what kind of jobs will be left for Pakistanis to be employed in.

Only very highly skilled jobs will be available of which pakistan has very few thousand people available.

The rosy picture presented will benefit only a few, specially the servants of the people who have failed to tackle small low level militants in pakistan but somehow will protect the Arab monarchies ?

Saudi citizenship for Pakistanis would be nice.
