Solarisation and single national grid can not go hand in hand.

Even before solirisation, government had no funds to upgrade electricity transmission system because of very high capital requirement. Now that half of the country is not buying electricity from DESCOs, do you think we can afford upgrading the grid now ???

And if we dont upgrade the grid, our line losses will keep increasing. Which will keep increasing our circular debt.

That's why I am advocating localized grids.

For example, importing 17 GW of solar panels in one year doesn't mean 17 GW of electricity was installed, increased in that one year.

The gist of the article is that the government has not helped much in this phenomenonal expansion of solar sector. Infact it has implemented 18% sales tax and reduced benefits of net metering. On my street where l live 8 out of 10 houses have solar systems.
These days solar panels are available but solar batteries are difficult to get. No wonder a Chinese company is investing 15m $ to set up a factory. This sector is going places.

Wont be too bad, if most of the people and industries go hybrid or off grid, and force the corrupt green men and their sharif project pay capacity payments as a retribution for destroying the power sector and fleecing the common man.

Gotta take care of one self in this jungle.
