Police fire tear gas as thousands continue to protest in Pakistan

Pakistan’s police have fired tear gas as thousands of ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan’s supporters defied a lockdown to continue calling for his release.

Humayun told Al Jazeera that while Pakistan’s economy has improved in recent months, the latest demonstrations could reverse those gains.

“For the political establishment,” he said, “this kind of instability is only going to compound risks to the economy, as well as the impression of insolvency that the military establishment and current government has tried very hard to fend off.”

Your freedom ends on other's nose...The nose of the state...

Because you guys wanna repeat 2014 dharna days? Remember smashing windows of PTV headquarters, smashing gates of PM house? Weak memory perhaps?

Baap baap hota hay....Tumhara baap toh shayad Adiyaala may band hay ?

Now typical facebook PTI-supporter has popped up.....
They were destroying Islamabad....State acted accordingly. Capitals are not meant to mobbed, burned, seized, for their petty political objectives.

Man I don't understand what's the establishment's end game?

Don't they realize what kind of hate they are breeding for themselves and now these killings on top of that? Some places in our country already are burning. We are heading into a dark place.

This is very painful. We used idolise them. We worked hard day and night so that we too could get a commission so that we too could join them, but perhaps some of our good deeds came to fruition or Allah liked some of our good deeds, so we could not be among them.

Oh so you are back again with this ID now ?

This one a-hole patwari who comes back again with multiple IDs. Who cheers on deaths of fellow citizens, who thinks millions who voted for PTI are anti-"state" lol. What kind of disgusting evil is this guy. Your true worth is of cockroach who is cheering on loss of life and acting as a cheerleader for military doing operation search light.

@Waz @Musings @RescueRanger Perhaps we should slap a ban straight away on anyone who supports & cheers bloodbath of peaceful Pakistanis doing protests for their 100% justified demands. No shitty state is above people. This guy is present anyways with multiple IDs.

‘Political solution only way out’

Michael Kugelman, director of the Wilson Center’s South Asia Institute, says the intensity of the ongoing demonstrations underscore Khan’s strong hold over his large base.

“A political solution, one with negotiations and concessions, is the only way out of this crisis,” he told Reuters.

“But this is an especially bitter and personal confrontation between two sides taking maximalist positions on everything.”

Mark my words: The knots being tied by hand today will not be undone even with the teeth of the state tomorrow. The oppressors using the full force of the state machinery against unarmed people will eventually flee, but this system will bear the consequences for a long time. This will not end here. Today, hatred and divisions stemming from the helplessness of the people will only grow deeper.

Each and every day Asim miner is getting weaker
