Please no lol. It is fast enough and then some but basically no payload capacity remaining....real-talk...can Iqbal be turned into a C-UAS? Basically, we fit mini-laser-guided rockets to it to hunt down enemy loitering munitions and drones?

As we are ghareeb, i always thought of solutions that is cheap. what if we provide manpads to soldiers on the border and loc to intercept the indian drones (LM+kamikazi etc)? did we will need some modifications on the MANPAD? what i wanted to ask is would there will be needed some specific drone related modification needed for MANPAD? or the existing MANPAD will work? Please no lol. Border pay faujiyon ko har aik chowki main aik special bandha MANPAD kay saath bitha dena chahiye and if we connect those persons to a secure network and they can be further guided on locations from our IADS?

Now this is a cheap and potent defence against drone even against the saturation of drone attackView attachment 175039View attachment 175040
PAF’s CIWS depiction. Seems pretty much a bunch of manpads or micro missile loaded on what seems to be commando armoured vehicle (produced under license in HIT).
In my opinion a layer of gun/canon based solution is also needed. 12.7-35mm automated (RWS).
Yes comparatively but manpads are still expensive. We need Gun based automated RWS layer too.Now this is a cheap and potent defence against drone even saturation of drone attack
Yeah, I agree with you on this. MANPADS are good but they are still expensive if you think about deploying them widely. A gun‑based automated RWS layer makes a lot of sense because it gives a cheaper continuous‑fire option against drones, especially when facing saturation attacks.Yes comparatively but manpads are still expensive. We need Gun based automated RWS layer too.
We need our own S Tier SPAAG's in number against drones.Yes comparatively but manpads are still expensive. We need Gun based automated RWS layer too.
More cost effective solutions. Something like this:We need our own S Tier SPAAG's in number against drones.

We are not flush with cash like a lot of countries obviously.

Maybe not for drones, but the Ukraine war has shown that manpads seem to be quite effective against cruise missiles and suicide loitering drones with combustion engines like the Shaheed drone, there's load of videos of Ukrainians shooting these down with manpads. Installing manpads on a mobile platform with EO/radar sensors could be quite a cost effective SHORAD system, especially given our extensive experience with the Anza series, very easy to ramp up production with updated seekers. We are not flush with cash like a lot of countries obviously.
Regarding MANPADS against drones. Two issues:
1. These have an IR (now IR+UV) seeker that is looking for heat. Unless it is a big drone you will have a REALLY hard time to establish a lock. Practically you won't get a lock ever. So useless as is.
2. The cost-to-target ratio and the complication-to-target ratios are bad. A MANPAD is an expensive system operated by a team of two trained soldiers and has one round.
This makes MANPADS especially poor for countering drone swarms.
There isn't consensus yet but I see two viable approaches:
1. CIWS type systems that have guns with specialized fuzed rounds and tracking systems (optical + radar) with maybe an option of really cheap missiles.
2. Counter drone drones. High speed drones that are meant to kill other drones. These are now being built with fire and forget features.
Stinger was upgraded to be able to do just that. But again what’s the point when the cost is still high. These have an IR (now IR+UV) seeker that is looking for heat. Unless it is a big drone you will have a REALLY hard time to establish a lock. Practically you won't get a lock ever. So useless as is.
Bro that is BRDM-2 AT with the multi tube Konkurs Atgm launcher. A Anti tank system that is also fielded by Indians. Its just used as a representative pic for a Missile-Gun SHORAD.View attachment 175039View attachment 175040
