Pakistan vows to defend Saudi Arabia against Iran-backed Houthis by ‘whatever means’

sitting in US and telling us that Pakistan has already ''ceded'' Balochistan and KP. That alone shows how little you actually know about Pakistan beyond propaganda posts.

Pakistan is the only country that broke TTP control over its mountain strongholds, something US and its dozen allies failed to do in Afghanistan after 20 years. So spare us lectures on fighting militants. we know how to do it.

Pakistan is not going there as cannon fodder. It can provide drones, air defence, intelligence, aviation, naval support and advisers from its spare capacity.

And Iran arming terrorists against Pakistan is not some future threat, they have played these proxy games for decades and allowed India to operate from Chabahar against us. If Iran does it again, it will be treated appropriately as well.

Calling a defence pact mercenary setup does not make it one.

You have offered no hard facts, Half is exaggeration and the other half is your imagination

One of us read actual news out of your country and the other doesn’t. We will let the other members decide who is out of touch with reality.

One of us Actually lives in the country.... can you guess who ?

If that meant anything, you would know that your army generals have always sucked up to Arab despots by acting as their mercenaries against poor Arabs. Just Google Black September and your army’s massacre of Palestinians in Jordan.

Because those are internal issues that started well before any pact and more importantly do not involve ANY external forces.

Balochistan has Baloch rebels which have shelter in areas but are essentially Pakistani.

KP has TTP who are considered Pakistani militants even if today the Afghan Taliban and them are pretty much the same.
Then Pakistan has to formally request help in that matter and ask for activation of any pacts and it never has.

So - great on the whataboutism - but it is apples and oranges.
Saudi Arabia got involved in Yemens internal conflict in 2015 and has been at war with the Houthis ever since.

So this is clearly not just a pre-existing conflict, but also an OFFENSIVE war of choice initiated BY Saudi Arabia - Pakistan has no obligation under any pact to enter this conflict against the Houthis.

Pakistan is the only country that broke TTP control over its mountain strongholds, something US and its dozen allies failed to do in Afghanistan after 20 years.

Well, Pakistan is also the ONLY country dear, which is attacked tens of thousands of times by the TTP. Its the ONLY country on planet earth where 80,000+ people slaughtered by the hands of TTP. So obviously no one else should have any interest to decimate TTP but us.

But even Syria, Iraq can claim they won their anti-terror war against vicious ISIS. We a much larger force and country still daily receive news of fighting. DAILY!

So there's definitely some flaw in overall tactics & strategy. Your strategy should never be military alone while dealing with hardened militants. Big part should be the Intelligence + Political coupled with kinetic force. We are fighting for 25 years and the mess isn't any near to resolution.

Every now and then, when TTPs hit at any base or kill dozens of our men-in arms or civilians that's a failure of the intelligence and failure of overall policy. The army soldiers on the ground and the battle commanders are doing their job amazingly. The fault lies at much higher level. At policy level. If something's not working for quarter of a century then same policy won't work for next 25 years too.

My generals would do the exact same as what my politicians have done, including Imran Khan, so let's not kid ourselves with this grandstanding.
Its not really fair to compare the hamstrung and manipulated (by the Fauj) PTI coalition that barely governed for 3 years, to an entity that has essentially controlled the levers of power in Pakistan throughout its history.

In fact, one of the more popular arguments used by Fauji apologists (to justify the overthrow of the PTI government), is that IK ‘refused to listen to the Fauji leadership about Russia and Palestine’. IK also fell out if favor for pursuing an Islamic bloc free of the control of the psychopath running Saudi Arabia … sounds like IK would have done exactly what the Fauji leadership refuses to do.

and how is this relevant to the gibberish you said before ?

it does, someone living inside a house knows it better then someone who heard about it from somewhere.
Lived experiences are absolutely useful and offer insight, but as a debate tool they are better utilized as secondary support for a broader argument.

Your lived experience in any region only offers a window into YOUR specific experiences and interactions and cannot possibly account for all the variables and complexities playing out in a diverse society, let alone in a conflict zone.

The poster you responded to made a claim - a better approach, if you disagree, would be to ask them to substantiate said claim, rather than dismissing them by claiming lived experience.

I did , he never responded,

Since you used the word "apologists", let me be clear, I don't justify Fauji overthrow etc. (I have never said here that I am happy with the prevailing situation) nor do I justify IK's incarceration and believe he should be freed.

However, from a realpolitik standpoint, Imran Khan had the penchant of making calls with his trademark "I know better than everyone else" swagger. That has had negative implications for the country. In the eyes of PTI supporters, this was a minor sin, those across the aisle felt very differently. Perhaps it is a matter of perspective so I will leave it at that.

Coming to topic on hand, people can call Saudis all sorts of names, but in every dire situation, in a pinch, they have helped Pakistan financially, diplomatically more than ANY other country, perhaps except China. I understand that a significant number of Pakistanis have a very favorable view of Iranian clergy, but Pakistan has to manage its relations with countries that help further our interests. In the overall scheme of things, KSA has a higher precedence than Iran. We don't even do these things at Iran's costs as can be seen with untiring efforts by Pakistan to broker peace between Iran and the US.

As such, Pakistan has been able to do what has made sense for its interests. In 2015, under intense pressure from the Saudis and Emeratis, Pakistan did not enter the fray in Yemen. Why do we think Pakistan will do so now? The trilateral defense pact is defensive in nature, it means Pakistan will help solidify the home-front for the Saudis and that is what Pakistan has been doing and not just now, but since the early 80s.
