President Asif Ali Zardari will begin a ten-day visit to China on Friday at the invitation of the Chinese government, Radio Pakistan reported on Thursday.

Zardari is scheduled to travel to Chengdu, Shanghai and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where he will meet provincial leadership.

Talks will cover Pakistan-China bilateral relations, with a focus on economic and trade cooperation, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and future connectivity initiatives. The two sides are also expected to exchange views on collaboration at multilateral fora.

Officials said the visit highlights the tradition of high-level exchanges between the two countries and reflects their commitment to strengthen the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.”

According to the presidency, the trip will reaffirm mutual support on issues of core interest, advance economic and trade cooperation including CPEC, and underscore a joint commitment to regional peace, development and stability.

In August, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited China to attend the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) summit, held from August 31 to September 1.

During the visit, Pakistan and China signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and joint ventures worth $8.5 billion to deepen business-to-business collaboration in agriculture, industry, health, trade, mining and minerals.

Why? What will he think he can do for that long?

Chinese will be pissed that he will waste so much of THEIR diplomatic time on this useless junket!!!

Imagine he will tour the country to see different cities/industries.

Feel sorry for the poor Chinese officials and diplomats who will have to entertain him and laugh at his jokes

Still remember that really cringe moment with Sarah Palin....

Mr 10% has been elevated to Mr 95% -I hope China arrests him for corruption in Pakistan and crimes against people of Pakistan.

Outsourcing Pakistani anti-corruption activity to China would actually transform Pakistan almost overnight

This reminds me of an incident which happened in the 1990s. A Japanese delegate had been visiting Bihar (India's poorest state for those here who may not know)-the head of the delegation told the then Bihar CM Laloo Prasad Yadav "Give us Bihar for one year and we will change it to Japan"

Laloo replied "Give me Japan for one month and I will change it to Bihar"

Regards

PM has made 40++ foreign trips so now it's his turn to waste our tax money. His entourage will be filled with his pipliya chamchas.

Flood in Sindh is over now, all rehabilitated, everything is fine in Sindh now. Zardari deserves a state visit. He needs that. Pak needs that. Thank you COAS Asim Munir. May you both live at the same place hereafter.
