In any civilized world, when a military chief fails in their duties, they take responsibility for their failures and resign. This act not only reflects their sense of accountability but also upholds their dignity and respect. However, in Pakistan, where morality is crushed under the weight of power struggles, the military chief celebrates his failures and labels them as martyrdom.
It is a grim reality that since the current chief assumed office, the country’s security and stability have been shattered. In Balochistan, there have been 381 attacks on security forces, resulting in the deaths of 436 soldiers and 423 civilians. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 739 attacks have claimed the lives of 730 personnel and 413 civilians. The TTP, which had been dormant in Punjab for a decade, is now openly carrying out operations there. Meanwhile, the state seems powerless against the growing menace of bandits in Kacha.
These failures are not just the result of one individual’s incompetence but are rooted in a mindset that is tyrannical, fascist, and considers its own people the enemy. This mindset has not only cost the lives of military personnel and civilians but has also destroyed the nation’s economy. Political instability stems from this very mindset, and the paralysis of the judiciary is another of its consequences.
Because of this mindset, relations with Afghanistan have soured. A close ally like China has been antagonized. Within the country, thousands of citizens have been arrested, hundreds of homes and businesses have been demolished, and dozens of innocent people have lost their lives. Yet despite all these disasters, the individual at the center of it all refuses to resign, instead seeking excuses for his failures.
Martyrdom or Justifying Incompetence?
The military establishment in Pakistan has mastered the art of painting their failures as martyrdom. They present the deaths of their personnel as proof of their achievements, even when these deaths are the result of their own incompetence. True martyrdom belongs to soldiers who sacrifice their lives defending their homeland against external enemies—not to those who die fighting their own people on their own soil.
This system sanctifies these deaths to escape accountability for its failures. Until this mindset changes, the devastation will continue. Both the military and the civilians will remain enslaved to this destructive ideology, and Pakistan will remain far from becoming a civilized state, resembling a lawless jungle instead.
Is It Not Time for Him to Resign?

یہ ایک افسوسناک حقیقت ہے کہ جس روز سے موجودہ چیف نے عہدہ سنبھالا ہے، ملک کی سیکیورٹی اور استحکام زمین بوس ہو گیا ہے۔ بلوچستان میں سیکورٹی فورسز پر 381 حملے ہوئے، جن میں 436 جوان اور 423 سویلین اپنی جانیں گنوا بیٹھے۔ خیبر پختونخواہ میں 739 حملوں نے 730 اہلکاروں اور 413 سویلین کی زندگیوں کو نگل لیا۔ ٹی ٹی پی، جو ایک دہائی سے پنجاب میں خاموش تھی، اب وہاں کھلے عام کاروائیاں کر رہی ہے۔ ڈاکوؤں کا مسئلہ الگ سے سر اٹھا رہا ہے، اور انہیں قابو پانا تو دور، ان کے سامنے ریاست بے بس دکھائی دیتی ہے۔
یہ سب ناکامیاں صرف ایک فرد کی نااہلی کی وجہ سے نہیں ہیں، بلکہ اس سوچ کی وجہ سے ہیں جو غاصب ہے، فاشسٹ ہے، اور اپنے عوام کو دشمن سمجھ کر ان کے خلاف طاقت کا بے دریغ استعمال کرتی ہے۔ اس سوچ نے نہ صرف فوجی اور عوامی زندگیاں ضائع کیں، بلکہ ملک کی معیشت کو بھی تباہ کر دیا۔ سیاسی عدم استحکام اس سوچ کی پیداوار ہے، اور عدالتوں کی بے بسی اسی سوچ کا نتیجہ ہے۔
اس سوچ کی بدولت افغانستان جیسے ہمسایہ ملک سے تعلقات خراب ہو چکے ہیں۔ چین جیسا قریبی اتحادی بھی ناراض ہو چکا ہے۔ ملک کے اندر، ہزاروں شہریوں کو گرفتار کیا گیا، سینکڑوں گھروں اور کاروباروں کو زمین بوس کر دیا گیا، اور درجنوں بے گناہ افراد کی جان لے لی گئی۔ لیکن ان تمام تباہ کاریوں کے باوجود، یہ فرد استعفیٰ دینے کے بجائے اپنی ناکامیوں کا جواز تلاش کرتا ہے۔

I'm just scared of the chaos that might befall us if there really is an uprising. Millions of innocents could die is all I worry about.
And I can't support this US/ China backed incompetent junta anymore. We need somebody like Ayub Khan sahb to take charge and set us on a new path of regional integration.
