PTI freedom movement against Judiciary and Establishment: News, Discussion & Updates

Yesterday, while the PTI General Secretary, Chairman, and other leaders were claiming that the number of deaths ranged between 3 and 12 depending on who we listen and clarifying that the figure of 100 fatalities circulating on social media was incorrect and not something they had claimed—you posted that 300 people had died.

How many times have we heard claims on social media about Imran Khan being tortured, starved, or confined to a cage-like cell without sunlight, only for PTI leadership to refute these allegations after meeting him?

Why don’t we adhere to the teachings of the Quran and verify news before sharing it?
Lateef khosa quoted 300 dead.. our resident PTI youthias including OP were claiming much more.

Pti official X handle was quoting thousands dead.

Meanwhile we now know the truth.

They want bodies for politics.. meanwhile 116 bodies in Kurram? Nobody among them has an ounce of shame to even issue a statement let alone visit the victims let alone anything else.

Now another shosha.. much like pinky and imran being poisoned and whatnot BS.

And the ironic part is that blind cult followers will accept everything/nonsense.

Richard, a future member of the Trump administration, was left astounded when his “Free Imran Khan” tweet reached a staggering 10 million people on Twitter (now X). What started as a simple post transformed into a global phenomenon, prompting Richard and many other American politicians to post even more in support of Imran Khan. This was not just a show of solidarity; it highlighted how one man’s charisma and vision have captivated the world.

Twitter (X) has undoubtedly become the most powerful political platform today, eclipsing traditional media. Leaders who were previously unknown internationally are now leveraging the platform to increase their reach by tagging Imran Khan’s account, riding on his popularity. This trend alone speaks volumes about the unparalleled magnetism of Imran Khan, whose influence extends far beyond Pakistan’s borders.

However, in Pakistan, this rising global momentum is being met with resistance. The country’s 12th-grade-failed rulers took their first order of business to restrict access to X. Their advisors continue to suggest banning influential X handles, akin to the outdated recommendations from the 1990s against computerisation or the early 2000s against e-commerce. Such narrow-minded approaches can only spell doom for Pakistan’s leadership.

The current leadership of the Pakistan Army, particularly General Asim Munir, seems to be fighting a losing battle against a man whose popularity is unmatched. Imran Khan is not merely a political leader; he is a global phenomenon and a symbol of hope for millions. His relentless fight against corruption and his vision for a self-reliant Pakistan have made him an icon both at home and abroad.

Global leaders tagging Imran Khan on X to amplify their own reach demonstrates the strength of his brand. It reflects his ability to inspire and mobilise people worldwide. In contrast, Pakistan’s military leadership, instead of embracing this asset to the nation, has chosen to target him.

General Asim Munir, in particular, has shown an astonishing lack of foresight. By waging war against the most popular leader in Pakistan’s history, he has not only undermined the army’s credibility but also weakened the nation. Under his leadership, the army is no longer seen as a protector of the people but as a force opposing their will.

The Bottom Line

Imran Khan’s unparalleled charisma and international appeal have solidified his position as a global leader. Platforms like Twitter (X) have empowered individuals and leaders to bypass traditional media and connect directly with the masses. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s leadership is stuck in an outdated mindset, trying to suppress the inevitable rise of public power.

The world recognises Imran Khan’s greatness, while Pakistan’s generals continue their misguided campaign against him. History will judge their actions harshly, for they are fighting a man whose influence is only growing stronger with time.

In a desperate attempt to counter the wave of support for Imran Khan, Pakistan Army generals have resorted to meeting schoolchildren and university students, trying to convince them to oppose the former prime minister. This approach not only highlights their lack of understanding of today’s youth but also exposes how disconnected they are from the changing dynamics of influence and communication.

The irony is glaring. Just a few years ago, General Asif Ghafoor, as DG ISPR, used Twitter effectively to dominate the international arena. With the help of Pakistan’s vast English-speaking youth—the fourth largest in the world—he created a narrative that resonated globally. Social media was a powerful tool for him, one that amplified Pakistan’s voice beyond its borders.

Fast forward to today, under the leadership of General Asim Munir and the current DG ISPR, this momentum has completely dissipated. The official DG ISPR Twitter account has been silent for almost two years—a glaring admission of fear. They know that if they attempt to use social media now, they will face backlash from a public that is no longer willing to accept one-sided narratives. Instead, these leaders have chosen the bizarre route of physically visiting schools and universities to convince students against Imran Khan.

However, this tactic has backfired spectacularly. These students, well-informed and empowered by social media, have embarrassed the generals with tough questions they were not prepared to answer. The army’s efforts to sway the youth have only highlighted its inability to adapt to modern realities.

A Case of Stupidity and Fear

Imran Khan’s charisma and influence have created an unstoppable movement, fuelled largely by Pakistan’s young, tech-savvy population. General Asim Munir and his team, instead of leveraging this energy for the country’s benefit, have chosen a path of suppression and censorship. Their failure to engage on platforms like Twitter shows their fear of public reaction—a fear so great that they have abandoned the very tools that once made them formidable on the global stage.

This stark contrast between the strategic use of social media under General Asif Ghafoor and the current leadership’s ineptitude speaks volumes about their intelligence and approach. Rather than engaging with the public on modern platforms, they are clinging to outdated tactics that not only fail to achieve their goals but also make them look foolish in the process.

The Generational Divide

The youth of Pakistan today is not the same as in decades past. They are educated, vocal, and connected to the world through social media. Attempts to manipulate them with shallow narratives are not only futile but also counterproductive. The very act of visiting schools and universities to “convince” students against Imran Khan has exposed the army’s desperation. The questions posed by these students—questions that the generals cannot answer—have turned these sessions into public embarrassments.

Conclusion

Pakistan’s army generals, under General Asim Munir’s leadership, have demonstrated an astonishing lack of foresight. Instead of embracing modern tools like social media to build trust and credibility, they have abandoned them out of fear. Meanwhile, their efforts to influence youth through outdated methods have only deepened the divide between the military and the public.

The contrast between the successful strategies of the past and the failures of today could not be starker. The generals are fighting a battle they have already lost—against a man whose popularity and influence continue to grow, powered by a youth that refuses to be silenced. If they fail to adapt and learn, history will not be kind to them.

Imran Khan’s Charisma for many weary supporters is rooted in seeing him as the only unifying voice that could realistic force the system to change.

It’s not the man’s as much as the mission he has not stopped aiming for. His stubbornness or single mindedness (which his detractors characterized as dimwittedness, calling him “Im the Dim” in his youth) have been the exact force that has forced the system to confront its own failures.

IK has brought Tabdeeli, but not in the straight forward way he thought, and the extrajudicial push back by the status quo forces have only made his prognosis even more clear; the system needs to change if the country is to properly function.

His charisma is because people are frustrated. Even Gorbachev was popular I. The late Soviet period, because he was brave enough to say “we can’t go on living like this anymore”.

If he can bring about the end of army dominance by peaceful means, he will join the ranks of Gorbachev, Václav Havel and Lech Wałęsa in the pantheon of great leaders. The non-remittance movement will become as famous as Gandhi's movement against British cloth.

To understand Imran Khan, we can start with the quote

Truth is so rare that it is delightful to tell it. - Emily Dickinson.

In a nation -- indeed, a world -- led by opportunistic thieves, liars and con artists, it is delightful to see a man who remains steadfast to his vision and principles, shared by many of us who want the best for Pakistan. He gave up the elite life in the West to save his country, thankless and impossible as the task may seem, and he will always be remembered for that. He has awakened and inspired a whole generation of youth, not just in Pakistan, but in the Muslim world.

The only embarrassment of Pakistan Army is imposing Cartoon-e-Azam Imran Khan as the Prime Minister of Pakistan who followed a foreign policy based on his Jadugarni wife's whims and instructions.

It’s also important not to oversell what IK has done or is in the process of doing.

Also that the change is a process and involves the status quo people to realize that they themselves are living below their own potential. They need only look at their counterparts in comparable developing countries such as Indonesia and see what reforms could bring them, a head start and more opportunities then they could have dreamed of without the baggage of a restive population.

So, less I hope IK turns out to be a Lech Walesa like figure, and peacefully get the status quo oligarchy to realize that life for everyone, especially them, will be with reform.

Regardless of how Lech Walesa got his start leading solidarity and the ups and down, it still lead to a free Poland. Decades later, Poland is now set to surpass the UK in GDP per capita.

Pakistan too can reach a high stated of living for the common man and allow the rich to live like the rich in the west right inside Pakistan. This is not fantasy but analysis by Goldman Sachs; Pakistan the 6th largest economy by 2075 and GDP per capita of $27,000, close to India’s $30,000 at that time.

So can you blame MOST Pakistanis that see IK as that Lech Walesa figure for Pakistan.

Lech Walesa is still alive today, and I would hope PTI could arrange for a meeting between him and some our high ranking generals to help them understand the possibility.
