So, Imran Khan met some notorious criminal in a private party back in the 80s and that’s supposed to make him a "notorious criminal" too? Isn’t such kind of "guilt by association" also completely nonsense, and yet, it still makes sense for those with Bughaz-e-Imran?

I predict a fat 0% chance PTI is going to sue the Economist. Many in Pakistan already talked about the weird 'spiritualism' of Imran's wife and if that were just having black goats' heads on the roof for the Jinns to descend and consume then that would be okay: Pakistan is full of weird 'Rohaniat'. But there is plenty of proof that Imran's wife was not just a 'housewife'.

BTW, the article is in a subsidiary of The Economist, which is a reputable publication, and, even if you discount the Pakistani co-author, the other author has no reason to make a false story.

for me personally, it was irrelevant how Imran conducted himself behind the doors, including his sexual preferences and his belief in spirituality and all the rituals that were allegedly carried out at former prime minster's residence.
I am more interested in how that affected him in making decisions for the country. I do suspect an agenda in addition to some spicey story for the paper to increase sales revenue and subscriptions. this story benefits Imran's opponents in the establishment and in politics. But this fact alone cant be used to dismiss this article but it must be challenged in the UK, if the story is fabricated and meant to harm the reputation of Imran and his wife.
as of now, there is no news of taking the paper to the court yet other than some social media reaction by steadfast followers and supporters of PTI with their colorful language.

Misogyny is never a good thing and specially for our country where 49% of the population is womenfolk. However, keep in mind the disgusting misogyny that Mariam Nawaz has been subjected to with absolutely detestable content by the supporters of Khan sahib.
I don't even support PML but the standards should be applied fairly across the board. No, Bushra Bibi should not be targeted, but neither should MN. If they are targeted, it should be on the merit of politics/policies but not crass misogyny.
If you are so quick to blame "Kakul", what regressive places are PTI followers coming from for them to stoop so low? Most of the most egregious content comes from those sitting in the west, thus the more enlightened of the bunch.

But it is to be noted that Imran's current bad situation comes from severe personality flaws; there remains no questions about that, at least not in my mind. And why couldn't one of those flaws be over reliance on some weird form of 'spiritualism'? I bet there are many authentic witnesses who would confirm the weird, exaggerated role Imran's wife played in his decision making over the years. Why should that not be investigated? When a person is leading a large complex nation like Pakistan, then his decision making brain is not some private matter.
As to the timing of this publication: Per Ms. Bushra Taskeen, the work started in Nov. 2024 when Imran's wife led that charge on Islamabad and the focus turned to her and it took one year for the publication after the background work. Per Ms. Taskeen, the publication was to come out early November this year but they couldn't get some info from some govt channels and so got delayed.
Regardless of the motives behind the timing of this publication, it must be understood what Imran's was as the PM of Pakistan who, if any, put in weird crap into this mind. Pakistan had been rife with rumors about Imran's wife but it is now taking a Gora journalist with great reputation to notice the rumors.

the establishment learnt no lesson., MQM, Sipah Sabah / TTP, TLP and then poisoning a populous movement of PTI, from gen Shuja Pasha to the ambition of one man to remain in uniform forever (Gen Faiz) with a likeable and famous front face of Imran. that ambitious and ruthless man is General Faiz. he played his part to rid Reham Khan before Imran became the prime minister.
Reham was allegedly MI6 plant (big question on Imran's abilities to chose his partners) ... Gen Faiz introduced Imran to Bibi.. Imran's close associates complain that Imran is a bad judge of character . Gen Faiz is blamed for introducing Imran to Bushra Bibi due to his waknesses towards paranormal world but their plans didn't work out compeltely and unexpectedly Gen Bajwa pulled the rug under from of them. Bajwa was one selfish piece of work and he left the stage for Gen Munir.
Imran is a victim of Gen Faiz, Bajwa and this mystic woman and he languishes in jail for his political sins.

Right but I don't think your statement is totally fair: I have heard so much about the 'others' around Imran causing his downfall due to the 'bad advice' they gave Imran. Such 'logic' absolves Imran's own grave follies. He was not a child when the Establishment started to actively prop him up in early 2010s; he had a brain of his own. He has a college education from no less than the Oxford University. And he was in his 60s then and he had done the so-called decades long 'struggle' for Pakistan.
Did he not learn anything from his prior six decades of life??
